‘Kensho’ Review: A Gorgeous Puzzler That’s Missing a Little Something

Kenshō By: FIFTYTWO What first attracted me to FIFTYTWO's new puzzle game, Kenshō, were the gorgeous animations and lovey music in the App Store trailer video. I'm happy to say that that the game delivers every bit on both accounts. But what's hard to tell from that video is what that gameplay would be like, and that's unfortunately where the game falters a bit. In Kenshō, you're following the story of a robotic cube as he travels around, meeting other creatures like a deer or hummingbird. Read more [...]

My Week Unwrapped: September 25, 2017 – The Witness, Thimbleweed Park, Morphite, Another Lost Phone, Kensho and More

Hi everyone! I don't know about you, but I'm overwhelmed by all the amazing games we've been getting over the last few weeks. Just when I think I can sort of maybe juggle the four games I'm in middle of, out pops another high-profile game I've been waiting for. It truly is a great time to be a mobile gamer, and even more so if you like puzzle and adventure games. ‘Stephen’s Sausage Roll’-Inspired ‘Campfire Cooking’ Releasing This October

If I got a dime every time someone told me to play Stephen Lavelle's puzzle game, Stephen's Sausage Roll, I'd have...about a dollar? But I have so many games on my iPad and iPhone and there's very little that can make me give up my comfy touchscreen and couch to be bent over a keyboard and mouse at Read more [...]

The Witness: iOS First Impressions and Gameplay Videos

The Witness By: Thekla, inc. (Jonathan Blow) I'd been looking forward to playing Jonathan Blow's puzzle adventure, The Witness, for quite some time now. I don't enjoy playing games on my PC, so I waited patiently for it to arrive on iOS. Well, that day arrived this week and it's been a bit of a rollercoaster ride. In more ways than one. The game has been giving me some motion sickness, but I keep getting drawn back to it for the puzzles and mysteries. The game seems practically unplayable for Read more [...]

‘The Witness’ on iOS Might Not Be For You If You Get Motion Sickness

The Witness By: Thekla, inc. (Jonathan Blow) Update: I started playing on my iPhone and it is less of an issue. Read my thoughts about that here. I'd been looking forward to playing Jonathan Blow's The Witness on my iPad ever since it was released on PC and announced it would be coming to iOS eventually. I heard great things about it and loved the look of it, with its gorgeous island that houses all the puzzles. I'm also a big puzzle fan. So when it released today, I deleted some other apps Read more [...]
