Rusty Lake Paradise

This is a complete step-by-step walkthrough guide with hints, tips, tricks, solutions and answers for the Eighth Plague of the iOS, Android and PC game, Rusty Lake Paradise. Feel free to ask for extra help in the comments section.

Walkthrough:
Level 8, The Eighth Plague, Locusts:

1. Head left and tap on the three men playing banjos. Tap on the second one and he sings:
“There was a man, he was my dad.”
Tap on the third one. He sings:
“There was a man, the only brother I had.”
Tap on the first one. He sings:
“There was a man, no hat does he wear.”
Tap on the third one. He sings:
“There was a man, in the middle, stood there.”
Tap on the second man. He sings:
“There was a man, all skin and bones.”
Tap on the third man. He sings:
“There was a man, with no hairs under his nose.”
Tap on the second man. He sings:
“There was a man, he stands to my right.”
Tap on the first guy (your left, his right). He sings:
“There was a man, his hair grey as first light.”
Tap the third man. He sings:
“There was a man, who is really quite fat.”
Tap on the first man. He sings:
“There was a man, feathers perched on his hat.”
Tap the second man. He sings:
“There was a man, had a clock for his heart.”
Tap the first man. He sings:
“There was a man, the last man and the man from the start.”
Tap the second man to complete the puzzle.
I numbered them in the photo below to make it a bit easier to follow.
2. Now, listen to each of them play their instruments. There are long and short notes. Translate them into Morse code, like so:
First: -ΓÇó-ΓÇó
Second: –Γò¼├┤Γö£├ºΓö£ΓöéΓò¼├┤Γö£├ºΓö£Γöé
Third: ΓÇóΓÇó-ΓÇó
3. Now, go to the locked box on the ground to the right. Move the numbered pointers to the correct sets of of dots and dashes to unlock it. Take the axe from inside.
4. Use the axe to break through the planks blocking the Paradise gate and go through.
5. There’s a thick fog, so it’s a bit hard to see how. Tap the big locust and listen/watch the tune it plays. Then copy it by tapping the right smaller locusts. There are six tunes and they go like this:
6. Hatch the egg the locust laid. Keep tapping until a praying mantis emerges. Tap again to get it to leave.
7. Take the left path. Tap the owl. Then go back again and tap the owl again.
8. Go down the right path. There’s a goat. Tap it a few times and the mantis will come and kill it. Take its eyes.
9. Head to the hut and tap the owl again. Go inside the hut.
10. Take the shovel and notice the message on the wall that says:
THE OWLS ARE NOT WHAT THEY SEEM
11. Talk to your sister and she says:
“Eyes blinded by the fog cannot see the truth.”
12. Give your sister the goat’s eyes and then look at each of them. One has a clue for where to dig and the other tells you how to arrange the fireflies. Notice that there are three fireflies on it and three circles.
13. Go outside and arrange the fireflies like you saw in the eyeball. The eye on the tree should be the iris of the goat eye. But the catch is you need to do it like a mirror image. In the end, the fireflies in the goat eye need to land in the circles in the eye. So keep checking back to see how you need to adjust it. Pick up the firefly.
14. Go back to the mantis and tap on the owl again. Also, remember the clue from the other eye? Again, it’s a mirror image. So dig all the way to the right of the pile of bones (where the owl was) to unearth a locked box. We’ll come back to it later.
15. And now, go back to the locust and take the left path to find the owl and a butterfly. Feed the firefly to the owl and keep tapping it until the mantis comes. The owl will fly off, but you can shake its nest to get a key. Pick it up.
16. Go back to the locked box and use the key to open it. Take the mist horn from inside.
17. Now, head in the direction of the temple. The silhouette is in your way. Talk to it. He says, “My memories are the key to your future.” Continue on.
18. Examine the boat and give Granny the mist horn. Have her blow it until the mantis takes her away.
19. Grab the black cube from the boat and do the usual with it to complete the level.
