My Week Unwrapped: July 16, 2017 – Calculator The Game, Knights Fall, Causality, Shape Garden, The Lion’s Song, Telling Lies and More

Hi everyone! I'm back with My Week Unwrapped and I want to do something just a little bit different this time. There have been a lot of great sales lately and I often tweet them out but don't always mention them on here. I don't want to make a new post for every sale, so what I'm going to try is putting the noteworthy sales at the bottom of these posts. Make sure to scroll all the way down so you don't miss them. Anyway, I've been very busy this week and there are a lot of games to cover, so let's Read more [...]

Games for Change Festival 2016: Breaking Down Walls

I recently had the privilege of attending the 13th annual Games for Change Festival here in New York City. At the same time that the United Kingdom gave into fear-mongering and voted to break off from the European Union, I was listening to game developers talk about how they're reaching people in a positive way through their creations. “Her Story” Gets Its First iPhone & iPad Sale

Her Story By: Sam Barlow I was a little obsessed with Sam Barlow's FMV murder mystery Her Story when it first came out. You can read my spoiler-free (as much as possible) review here and see this Read more [...]

Everybody Wins: Games Keep Growing Up (A response to “No Girl Wins”)

A few days ago, I read an opinion piece on girls and gaming that I felt the need to respond to. But first, I want to give a little bit of my personal history as a woman who plays video games. I'm going to skip the early boring stuff and go straight to high school, where I found myself playing them the most. I enjoyed some PC games like Might & Magic 6+ and online games like Runescape. There was a point in high school I also spent an embarrassing amount of time playing Neopets. I hated my high Read more [...]

AppUnwrapper’s July 2015 iOS Games Roundup

I started a monthly roundup this year, in which I recap all the games I've written about in the past month. You can see June's roundup here. July has been a pretty busy month with some of my favorite games releasing. So if you missed anything, here's your opportunity to catch up on any good games that might have slipped by you. July saw the long-awaited release of Glitch Games' Forever Lost Episode 3. I had played it during the beta test, so I didn't have to wait quite as long as everyone else. Read more [...]
