**Update: Due to popular demand, Gameloft rolled back the game to have no ads!
Gameloft’s Hero of Sparta II (2) got an update today. I’m sure it will make many happy who didn’t already buy the game, as it’s now completely free.
But what about those of us who paid for the game, some as much as $6.99? We now have to deal with ads if we update (or download the new version to a new iDevice or PC. This is what the iTunes update info says:
Gameloft already has a Free lite version, so why couldn’t they make that the ad version instead?
I haven’t updated mine (and won’t unless I’m forced), so feel free to share your photos/feedback of the ads. How bad are they? Should we all grab torches and pitchforks and storm Gameloft’s castle? Or should we just lie down peacefully and take it?
Post your thoughts below.
If you haven’t played the original yet, you can get Hero of Sparta here.
Yes, they should have updated the lite version to have the ads, not the paid version. Cheap move by Gameloft.
Will this keep you from buying more Gameloft games in the future?
