If you’ve been playing Battleheart Legacy for a while now and want to take the game to the next level, check out the Colosseum at the Arena of Madness. It’s located at the tent right below the Mage Academy Tower.

You can earn great amounts of XP there while battling endless waves of enemies that get stronger with each wave. There is a possibility of getting a Legendary item at any point, increasing the closer you get to 100 kills. But after 100 kills, you always get a Legendary item.

I’m still tweaking my build, but I’m currently using a Necro/Witch with a little bit of Wizard (Teleport) thrown in. I focus mainly on distracting the mobs with Mass Hysteria and Horror. Then I have my mummy and skeleton army keep the attention off of me. I also use Tornado and Soul Mass as attacks. I also have a Life Leech item (such as Vampire Tooth Pendant or Blazesong Amulet) and Instant Cooldown items (such as Azamoth’s Cursed Eyeball) This means all damage I cause replenishes my health and the 25% Instant Cooldown means I have a high chance of my skills being ready to use again right away, without any cool downs. Impending Doom is also a great way to reduce your cooldowns if you have the stat points for it.

I got over 240 kills with this build, and I only stopped because I didn’t have time to continue. I’m still tweaking it, but Impending Doom makes a huge difference:

Active:
Teleport
Tornado
Summon Pet (or Mummy)
Mass Hysteria
Soul Mass
Horror
Raise Skeleton
Victory Banner

Passive:
Staff Master
Arcane Potency
Army of Doom
Lasting Affliction
Withering
Impending Doom

My accessories are a Blazesong Amulet (10% life drain) and Azamoth’s Cursed Eyeball (+15% Instant Cooldown)

I basically use Horror first to send all the enemies into a frenzy, so I can start picking them off. Since it scatters them, I use Tornado to pull some of them together. Then when Horror’s effect wears off, I hit them with Charm or Mass Hysteria, since they have similar effects. Keep an eye out and don’t spam Horror/Mass Hysteria. You want to make sure you have at least one available at all times, in case the Instant Cooldown doesn’t work. If you get stuck without those three skills, it will be hard to keep them off your back. I also swapped out my mummy for a wolf pet because they seem better in every way…and I somehow managed to summon more than one at a time. 🙂

Whatever class(es) you’re using, you want to try and minimize your cool downs so you’re able to spam skills. You also want to make sure you have AoE skills to take care of large mobs.

I’ll continue to post tips and hints here, as well as info about Legendary items you can loot. Feel free to share your own builds in the comments section if you have any that work well.

Legendary Equipment:

Robes of the Shadowmancer (Mage robe):

For late game, I think the warrior is crazy. I can easily achieve 100+ kills in arena with skills like: knight’s skill-Revenge,cleave + paladin’s skill-aura of light + barbarian’s skill-frenzy,whirlwind,savage pounce(leap) + any other two skills (I use support skills like knight’s shield war/intimidate/victory banner or paladin’s power infusion). For passive, I use knight and barbarian’s passive. With life drain items (which I have is 15% life drain in total), you are almost unstoppable. Any AOE/revenge + paladin’s aura of light could immediately get you into full health. And frenzy applies crazy cool-down speed. My character’s data is ATK143 DFF55 (STR40,SKL12,END38,CHA13). The only thing you need to care is after wave 15, some monsters have huge burst damage, just don’t use support skills when you are not above half HP or you may get killed. When you are low, use crowd control skills like intimidate first. And also kill mage monsters first of course.

    1. Lass103

Why am I not getting the cowl of the red fang I reach 150+ kills in Colosseum but I got most of the legendary weapons listed but not the cowl of the red fang.

  2. big2wolf

currently I got 3 legendary items:
    1. Mor’doth Doomplate (body): +5 atk & + 5life steal (requires: END 25)
    2. Mod Smith’s Gloodblade (weapon, colossal)
    3. Tombcaller (weapon, dagger)

  3. big2wolf

Just farmed again and got the 4th one:
cowl of the red fang (body): 5% crit chance, 50%ciritcal damage ( requires: DEX20)

  4. big2wolf

And I dont know if this one is a legendary or not, it’s dropped by the final boss:

Aegis of the Pride (body): +15% elemental resist (requires: END 20)

    1. daajfr

Aegis of the Pride can be bought in the store, so i dont think it’s a legendary.Legendary items are surrounded by a golden border

  5. Daajfr

Another legendary item I got was bow called “Hurricane”

  6. Daajfr

Sorry for all the comments, but an interesting build I like to use is critical chance paladin

    The items I use are
    Two Bael’s Bloodreaper
Aegis of the Pride (will use legendary if I could ever find it)
    Black Candle (+50% crit Effect)
Howling Sickle (+10% Crit , +30% Crit Effect)

    The skills are
    Radiance (AoE)
Frenzy (Attack speed buff to deal more damage)
Karma Kick (Mobility and tons of damage if really low)
Victory Banner (Massive Crit chance increase, and damage buff)
    Wrath (AoE damage)
    Aura of light (to heal)
    Power Infusion (more damage)
Flame Weapon(crit chance and a bit more damage if you have some INT)

    Passives
    Stalwart (more health)
    Lethality (more crit damage)
Slaughter (crit chance with axes),you can also use others, but axes deal most damage for me)
Grit (more damage and lessens status effects)
    Armsman (more damage)
    Dual Wield (faster attacks)

With 16 Skl, I have 28% crit chance with items and passives
However, with banner, it jumps to 78%, and many times I have seen strings 400+ damages that annihilate groups of enemies
Also, with the Aura of Light, I can fully restore my health in seconds when fighting groups.

    1. Daajfr

pretty similar to big2wolf’s, but utilizes crit chance instead of life steal

      1. Daajfr

Replacing Karma Kick with Blade Dash and stalwart with impending doom makes it a bit more effective

    2. Daajfr

Replacing Karma Kick with Blade Dash and stalwart with impending doom makes it a bit more effective

      1. Dhanushka

It’s not called blade dash, gosh, it’s blade rush

  7. nathan nono

how come my game lags then shuts off when I am in the coliseum? It happens when I do a series of barrage attacks.

  8. James

    20min match 200+ load out

I use a fast critical life steal technique with a twist. I use smoke bomb to lure enemy rangers, and frenzy so that I can have it continuously. Also heighten dodge to ridicules extent with this loadout. Also wrath is key to damage output. (Ones with asterisks are optional)

    Passive:

    Dual wield
    Impending Doom
    Eavasion
    Leathality*
    Life Leach*
    Counter Strike*

    Active:

    Time Stop*
    Frenzy
    Horror*
    Wrath
    Aura of light
    Smoke bomb
    Flame sword*
    Victory banner

    Equipment:
Best swords you can find recommend mercuial blade or one of the lengendaries
    Mordoth plate*
    Ashes of graz bad
    Time-lost urn

    1. CivRuler

I have a screenshot with 325 kills in the arena.
This is the best combination I ever created:

      Passive:
      Dual wield
      Impending Doom
      Favoured Soul
      Lethality
      Grit
Lethal Edge, Armsman or Life Leech (all 3 work with the others)

      Active:
Smoke Bomb (I call it the cloud of death, always stay in it)
Frenzy (awesome and necessary to get into 300+ kills)
Wrath (riduculously awesome with frenzy and dual wield, let the carnage begin)
Victory banner (plant the banner to obliviate)
Power Infusion (who doesn’t like another 50% damage?)
Ghost Hand (Bring the stragglers into your cloud of death)
Flame sword (Great for Critical hits)
Song of War (another 15% damage given and reduced, the cherry on top of this magic formula)

      Equipment:
2 bladed legendary weapons (preferably Witherstrikes)
Mordoth plate or Cowl of the Red Fang (they both get you over 300+ kills)
      Ashes of Graz’bad

      1. dan

CivRuler can you post your stats? (DEX,INT,etc,)
Which stats do you focus on?

    2. Dascedukan

How did you get Ashes of Graz bad?? Is it legendary?

  9. Daajfr

    Legendary shield called Draconic Bulwark

  10. dan

Does anyone have any effective ranger builds?
Im trying to think up of one, but I cant seem to find any combination good enough.

    1. AppUnwrapper

Ranger is tough. They’re a bit easier if you mix in some Rogue and Ninja skills.

      1. dan

Yeah, because there aren’t many passives that are too effective with bows :c

But something that kinda works is
Poisoned Knife, Apollo Strike, Incendiary Arrow, Barrage, Shadowstep, Frenzy, Premeditate, Stealth

        and for Passives
Archery, Death by 1000 cuts, Twist the Blade(for poison knife), Adrenaline Rush, Evasion, and Impending Doom

    2. TheGreatBurrito

I have a half-decent Ranger/Rouge build with a little Battlemage. Im only level 17 tho. I lost my cloud save xD

  11. CivRuler

I have a screenshot with 325 kills in the arena.

    Ashes of Graz’bad

    1. CivRuler

I have mastered all skills, you will have to start by focusing on the ones listed. I also have a 365 kill screenshot. Not sure how to attach an iPad screenshot to this post?

      1. AppUnwrapper

There’s no way to post screenshots in the comments section. But you can always email me any screenshots you think are worth posting.

  12. Wanderer

I’m only a level 33 and managed 165 kills on Normal mode with a Knight/Paladin/Battlemage class. Here’s everything about my character:

    Stats:
    STR: 34
    DEX: 5
    INT: 28
    SKL: 6
    END: 40
    CHA: 13

    Equipment:

    SWORD: Obsidian Soulcrusher
    SHIELD: Draconic Bulwark
BODY: Aegis of Pride (Got a Marath Doomplate, lost it because game crash :c)
    CHARM 1: Crown of Sundering
CHARM 2: Choker of the Red Feast

    Skills:
    Divine Hammer
    Mana Strike
    Cleave
    Shield Rush
    Aura of Light
    Backlash
    Revenge
    Flame Weapon

    Passives:

    Shield Training
    Armsman
    Grit
    Time Warp
    Spell Eater
    Chivalry

Additional Notes: I commonly use Revenge and Aura of Light together to heal to full health nearly instantly. I recommend tanking the icicle rain that some of the mages use because it allows a constant use of the ability Backlash while you are in it.

  13. inflames

I manage to kill up to 360.. Due to hvy dmg enemy they kill me in just 4-5 hits nd didnt mange to click revenge or use potion.. And im in panic mode also.. Dont know what to click coz everytym my smoke bomb is gone all there attck kip on coming.. Hehe

    Lvl 42

    Stat:

    End: 30
    Chrm: 7

    Equipmnt:

    Skills:
    Frenzy
    Power infusion
    Victory banner
    Blade rush
    Ki blast
    Smoke bomb
    Radiance
    Revenge

    Passive:
    Grit
    Chivalry
    Lethality
Dual wield (must have) dual sord
Impending doom(must have) for faster cooldown every crit
Adrenaline rush(must have) life regain every kill

    Grit,chivalry, lethality
U cn chnge it with ur prefered passive skill.

I use frenzy always ( for faster skill cooldown) and power infusion..
Smoke bomb( for range enemy to get closer nd dodge)
Victory banner( 50% crit chnce, 20% dmg)

Ki blast nd radiance (knockdown enemy)
Blade rush (range enemy to get closer faster and dealing dmg on its way)

Always have 1 aoe skill.. For life steal..

With power infusion + victory banner ull see 900+ dmg coming up (instant full health)

  14. inflames

Chnge obsidian soulcrusher with witherstrike if u happen to have 2 of it.. Or other weapon with higher weapon dmg..

  15. grandsnowbear

This build focuses more. On auto melee attacks so that you may concentrate more on managing your HP. I play the barb/rouge/pala style, with a mix of ninja passives. By getting dual wield to equip 2 maces, coupled with Flurry(Ninja passive) greatly increases the DPS (damage per second).

Impending doom (ninja passive) complements well with flurry and dual wielding to increase chances of crit. Strikes which insanely reduces the c.d. of all skills.

The following active skills are used to greatly enhance melee strikes
    Frenzy(barb) + Wrath (pala) + Power Infusion(pala) + Victory banner (pala)

For healing, you may use Aura of light (pala) since wrath is able to chain lightning dealing greater overall damage and hence HP replenished.

You will be left. With 3 more slots. Of active skills. For colosseum build, get ninja smoke as it will render ranged enemies helpless as they inch forward into your melee range.

I highly reccomend getting tempest stone (or anything that increases attack speed) as it will mean more raw DPS, faster cooldown(due to more chances of landing crit-impending doom) and greater HP replenished.

You might also want to consider getting student of mind(wizard passive) to further increase the. Cd time of your skills. Drain life(witch) may also come in handy in higher waves of colosseum. Adrenaline rush(barb passsive) will also insure you a higher survival rate in the Arena of Madness.

Of course, skills are interchangeable and I would recommend you to experiment with the plethora of skills available. This combination would be one which allows players to attack without relying on active skills for direct damage on mobs.

  16. ajulsam

I use a build very similar to civruler

    Mor’doth doomplate
Divinity x2 (because I don’t have 2 of any other legendary weapon yet)
    Ashes of Graz’bad
    Ninja Glove

    Flame Weapon
    Victory Banner
    Wrath
    Frenzy
    Mass Hysteria
    Blade Rush
    Smoke Bomb
    Mana Strike

    Flurry
    Lethality
    Impending Doom
    Dual Wield
    Punishment (because of equipped weapons)
Thundering Blows (again, because of equipped weapons)

I’ve gotten into the high 200’s without even using mass hysteria or potions simply because my auto attacks with wrath, blade rush, and mana strike are constantly giving me health back. When I get low on health, one blade rush through a group will bring my health back to full.

I was using Time Lost Urn as well, but decided my crit was high enough, especially with Victory Banner always up due to Impending Doom, that higher attack speed was more important.

  17. Bolted

To get all classes maxed out the quickest, get the generalist passive skill from the bard (30% less points needed to be able to learn skills) asap. This is my set-up for the colosseum, i think i can get to 500+ kills with this set-up, yet to try.

    STR: 30
    DEX: 22
    INT: 42
    SKL: 24
    END:23
    CHA: 33

    Equipment:
    The scourging inferno (legendary staff)
Robes of the shadowmancer (Legendary armour)
    Time-lost urn (+10% dodge/crit)
azamoths’s cursed eyeball (+15% instant cooldown, can be another time lost urn too for impending doom purposes and who doesn’t love dodge?:))

    SKILLS:

    Active:
    Smoke bomb (ninja)
    Radiance (paladin)
    Aegis (battlemage)
    Blizzard (wizard)
    Tornado (witch)
    Victory banner (knight)
    Horror (witch)
    Soul mass (necromancer)

    Passive:
    Evasion (monk)
    Life leech (witch)
    Staff master(wizard)
    Elemental warding(battlemage)
    Arcane potency(battlemage)
    Impending doom (ninja)

    Tactic:
always make sure to stand still in a corner in your smoke bomb
always have tornado and blizzard on
    always have aegis on
    always have victory banner on
only use horror when in absolute need

With victory banner you increase your crit. chance bij 50%, tornado and blizzard will get lots of crit hits since tornado pulls everything in, this will allow you to let your skills cooldown super fast, don’t forget to throw your smokebomb before the last 1 runs out. Firebomb arrows will kill you when you don’t. Always use aegis when you can, this will kill poison damage and other random damage. I’ve gotten 380 kills easily and i could have gone a lot further but i didn’t have the time…

  18. Graveto

With this build I manage to get beyond 100 kills easily. I’m at level 53 now and maxed barbarian, knight and paladin for the necessary skills. They’re based on buffing your character and doing “normal” auto damage. As long as you keep striking your foes, you’ll be fine.

    Active:
Wrath (paladin) *for some splash damage
Aura of light (paladin) *the life recovery is extremely necessary as the numbers of waves increases
    Power infusion (paladin)
    Frenzy (barbarian)
Blade rush (ninja) *I use this skill to reach range enemies such as annoying teleporters
    Song of war (bard)
    Flame weapon (battlemage)
Radiance (paladin) *this one knockes all enemies for the necessary time to rebuff yourself

    Passive:
    Word of retribution (paladin)
    Adrenaline rush (barbarian)
    Grit (knight)
Favored soul (bard) *this one is needed because makes your buffs lasts till their cds ends
    Dual wield (ninja)
    Armsman (knight)

Some active skills can be replaced as the way you prefer, but the priority of this build is buffing yourself as much as you can to make your hits steal a large amount of life. Some passive skills too, but those are the ones which most increase damage.

Now I’ve got all legendary weapons and armor, but these are my items:
Whiterstrike (weapon/sword) or Bael’s Bloodreaper (weapon/axe) fits this build, their damage are the same and atk spd too
Mor’doth Doomplate (armor) *+5 weapon pwr, +5% life steal
Antique Hourglass (accessory) *+18% atk spd, 13% cd spd
Blazesong Amulet (accessory) *+10% crit, 16% atk spd

Ps: sorry for bad English, not my main language.

  19. Warlocksg

After playing with this game for a bit, thought I would contribute to this site a bit, since it has helped in a tad with the game.

I am currently running a version of the Necro/witch/wizard variant, though it focuses more on crowd control, damage over time and Minions:

    Level 25 Stats:

    Str: 5
    Dex: 5
    Int: 37
    Skl: 13
    End: 23
    Cha: 19

    Gear:

    Staff: Abyss
Robes: Battlemage Raiment (6% attack / Cooldown speed)
Trinket: Almanac of Annihilation (20% cooldown speed)
Trinket: Choker of the Red Feat (10% life Drain)

    Skills:

Drain Life: On Demand Burst & Heal (15 sec cd) – Witch
Dark Harvest: on Demand heal (10 sec CD) – Necromancer
Plague: Poison DOT: Main DPS (18 sec CD)- Witch
Wandering Plague: Poison DOT – secondary DPS (30 sec CD)- Necromancer
Summon Mummy: Main tank (15 sec CD) – Necromancer
Raise Skeleton: Support DPS (1 sec CD) – Necromancer
Mass Hysteria: Main CC (30 sec CD – Necromancer
Horror: Secondary CC (25 Sec CD) – Witch

    Passives:

Staff master: Allows usage of staves (wizard)
Mass Destruction: Increases damage and attacks of all area of effects and spells by 10% (Wizard)
Lasting Affliction: Increases duration of Negative effects you apply by 2 sec (Witch)
Dark Arts: Increases your poison and Unholy damage by 10% (Witch)
Withering: Increases the critical strike chance of all periodic damage by 10% (Necromancer)
Army of Doom: Increases the health and duration of summoned minions by 50% (Necromancer)

    Strategy:

Battles in the Colosseum and usually in other maps as well start of with a Mummy tank takng the brunt of the damage. Mass Hysteria is cast on the spot with the most congregated enemies, followed by Plague and Wandering plague on the enemies with the lowest HP (ie: Archers, small dogs, etc)

Staff attacks should then be focused on this mob until it dies, raise it as a skeleton. Your next target should be the target where wandering plague has jumped to, rinse and repeat.

As more and more mobs die, your skeletal army, together with your mummy should be able to take on most mobs that comes. When wandering plague CD is over, and if there are still mobs, choose a high level mob (ie: viking, skeletal berserker, etc) as a target of the wandering plague.

Use Horror only when mobs start closing in on you (don’t wait until their too close… you don’t have teleport). Strike an area with Plague and move out the far ends of the map. By now your mummy CD should be up, summon a mummy and move away, rinse and repeat the cycle in previous para.

The bodies left behind by the skeltal constructs provide great synergy with dark harvest. When combined with Drain life attacks, you can go from near 0 health to full health with just these 2 spells alone. In addition, passive from the trinkets ensure that the CD and life drain from your special and normal attacks are always replenishing your life.

The key to survival is the timing of utilizing horror. Always, Always utilize horror only as a Oh sh*t button and you should be fine to get away from most situation (as long as you’re not smack in the middle of he mob) and always DPS from the edges of the map.

I hope this article helps someone who’s seeking a much darker playthrough and skill sets for this game.

    Cheers,

    Warlocksg

  20. The stranger

Just managed to kill 427. I had 3 potions left too but I lost concentration for a second. Think 500+ Is achievable.

  21. Edward

Trying to get witherstrike and hurricane, but I always keep in getting the same items..!’

  22. Jimmybob

Is it possible to get the same item twice?

    1. AppUnwrapper

Yes, you can. Sometimes you may just keep getting the same item. 😉

  23. Jimmybob

I want to equip 2 divinitys but I can’t seem to get the same item twice. Please answer me or I will become a super nooooooooooooooob!

    1. Dhanushka

It’s possible to get the divinity in the east solar shard, you just have to beat the boss really easily without using a potion because the prizes you get also depend on your level. You can get it by doing the colloseum but there a lot of legendary items out there it might be better to totally wreck the east solar shard!

  24. swarleystinson

Dont know if anyone else has tried this. But playing as bard generalist and working on getting all the skills. I could breeze through colosseum at low lvl 30s dying only when i get bored with the following:

    Vardus,the reaper dagger
Battlemage raiment armor (for better elemental sword damage)
    Mystery egg for farming xp
Rune of the serpent (for better crit chance/attack speed (wiuld change to 2 almanacs of the annihilation if i wanted to over 1000 kills or go for high score

Skill set is based around 2 main skills:
Rangers premeditate and barb’s Last stand. If you can get your cooldown time fast enough you can trigger premeditate then last stand over and over again. And are basicslly invinvible. I use impending doom passive to help decrease cool down time and then use either accessories that either directly decrease cooldown time or increase crit chance (+attack speed).
    Active skills
    Knights Victory banner
Battlemages Ghost hand (Sooo good for picking off mages that heal) and better than monks karma kick imo
Barb’s Frenzy (match made in heaven with impending doom)
    Premeditate
    Last stand
    Battlemages Thundering Weapon
    Paladins Power Infusion (quicker kills)
Paladins Radiance (pairs nicely with coup de grace passive)

    Passives
Rogues Coup de Grace (pairs with radiance, ghost hand, and thundering weapon (i think))
Bards quick study (to farm xp)
Rogues lethal edge (increase crit chance = increased cool down chance)
Bards (i think) Favored Soul. Im pretty sure this increases last stand effect but not 100% certain. Pretty sure it pairs with power infusion and victory banner
Ninjas Lethality (to pair with victory banner for faster kills)
    Ninjas Impending doo

With this class i can still farm with mystery egg and quick stufy making leveling up in the colosseum a breeze! Just make sure to not double tap the last stand. Pretty good class. Will try some of these others with my new game plus.

I use the choker of the red feast instead of the vampire tooth, the life drain is 4% more.

  27. The Blip

Hey guys ive found a very easy way too farm, or rather get a whole bunch of items out if one run, you go as high as you can in the arena (ive been able to get 103) then you get your reward, after that you dont go another round, note: you have to have on crazy mode. You hit the arena guy at the entrance. He will then h it you, let him kill you and youll be revived and get another item, continue for unlimited items

Other people’s skill trees are too weak and boring.

The hint in the final skill tree is a Duel Warrior with a bow.

I got over 1300 kills with this build.

    Blade Rush
    Ki Blast
    Incendiary Arrow
    Tornado
    Victory Banner
    Aura of Light
    Power Infusion
    Smoke Bomb

    Archery
    Grit
    Impending Doom
    Lethality
    Evasion
    Favored Soul

    Merciral Blade
    Hurricane
Cowl of the Red Fang = Crit 5%, + Crit Damage 50%
    Ghost Stone x 2 = Dodge 30

Dex :65 [max Stats Dodge is 30%]
    Skl: 90 [Crit 45%]
END: all in [Grit Effect is Power up]

    GOOD Luck!
