Chapter 9:
1. Enter the right door to a kids’ playroom. First, solve the abacus puzzle using the clue from the floor mat from the playroom in the manor. Take the key.
You can also watch my video walkthrough for Chapter 9 here:
2. Tap on the toy robot on the table. Take the star dial from the back, then insert the battery. Take a photo of the backwards “C” and tap the robot to get it to blink its eyes. Take note of the order: Left, Right, Left, Left, Right.
3. Take a photo of the tower of blocks made of different materials. It’s a clue we’ll need soon. Also, look in the crib to find a monitor and a creepy doll. Take a photo of the “C” on the doll’s leg.
4. Leave that room and enter the left one. Use the crowbar to break the glass on the framed arrow, then take the flag.
5. Leave that room and head forward. Enter the next right door to the bath room. Notice the tubs with the backward numbers.
6. Go to the mirror. Take a photo of the flowers for later. Open the mirror and take the screwdriver. Use the screwdriver to remove the mirror. Then put the mirror on the left side of the cabinet and take a photo of the circled numbers over the tubs. Then remove the mirror again and hold onto it.
7. Leave that room and enter the left room. Place one baby monitor next to the bottle. Then go to the TV and take out the photos of the TV guide to figure out what to set it to. Pay close attention to the two circled TV shows, “Thunderfly” and “The Sprinting Dead.” The description for one says to crank the volume to the max. So turn the volume knob to 10. The two shows are on channel 3, so switch the channel to 3. The last part is the trickiest. Notice the “Picks of the week” at the bottom of the page. Those four circles represent the four colored buttons on the TV. Since Thunderfly and The Sprinting Dead are the ones circled, those are the two buttons you need to press, and at the same time. So press the red and blue buttons at once and take the key from the drawer.
8. Leave the room and continue forward. Enter the next right door. Place the other baby monitor on the table next to the four bottles of water. Take out the photo of the circled numbers above the tubs and tap each bottle in the order shown, matching the level of water in the tubs.
9. Go back to the TV room and take the key from the open box.
10. Leave the room. You can place the three keys you have in the locks to the left, but you’re still missing one. So continue ahead.

[…] Forever Lost Episode 3: Walkthrough […]
Hi, ho do I her the ladder Thatcher is used to het over the wall to the old asylum?
Let me add a photo for that.
Icant fin the ladder
I still can’t find the ladder. Any help is appreciated.
You can’t take the ladder from he very first cabin (where you begin the game). Think about the next cabin where you saw and used a ladder.
Sorry, I got distracted earlier. I added a photo now.
I have tried, tried and tried to solve the hanoi/radio puzzle. Its starting to feel like a bug. Please help!!
Hanoi? I’m not sure what you mean.
The pyramid game in the playroom is an ancient Zen Buddhist puzzle known as ‘The Pillars (sometimes Towers) of Hanoi’. Usually, it’s just 3 columns and six discs. The objective is to move the discs from the left column over to the right, the only rule is that a larger disc cannot be placed on top of a smaller one. The optimal number of moves is, supposedly, the square of the number of discs, plus one.
It’s been an adventuring staple for decades; I remember it being used in a Zork, back in the early ’80s – try solving it when all you’ve got are words!
Now, my turn. Got coffee and C, developed map. I have followed it, as per your instructions, three times and, every time, arrived at a closed cave. Is there something I’m not doing correctly…? Am I missing something (aside from a clue)…?
Ahh yes. I’m familiar with the puzzle, just didn’t know the name.
As for the map, my instructions should get you to the open cave door. But I’ll double-check to make sure I didn’t make any typos or something.
I had the same problem as @SJ, then I realized that I hadn’t followed the map precisely from the very start. When I took the correct first step, I had an open cave door waiting for me at the end of the trail. ?
It took me ages too, because you can’t get rid of the green ones. With the Hanoi puzzle, where you have just red/yellow discs, take that as being the top of the equaliser band, ie. if there is 1 red and 2 yellow only, click that band up to all green plus 2 yellow and one red.
I cant find the ladder where is it
In the cabin
The game in the kids room is a clue to the radio puzzle, and I have no idea how to solve it.
Oh! The pyramid thing? I posted a photo, but basically pay attention to the top color on the toy and set each one to match it. It doesn’t necessarily have to look exactly the same. The top is what matters.
Just wanted to say thanks for the walkthrough! )
Welcome. 🙂
I got it and have now finished the game 🙂 I think my BF is glad to have me back in the real world again 😉 Thanks for the walkthrough – and for all the others you have made
Haha. Glad to help! 🙂
Hello, I am stuck in the Ferris Mueller game talking to Alice. I gave her the breakfast once, but then it didn’t return an I am stuck talking to her. Is this a bug?
It might be. Someone else mentioned that problem. I’m not sure if they ever managed to get around it.
I finally figured out that you have to tap the actual words (they then turn red) in the dialogue before the next part of the dialogue can continue.
The apparent repetition is intentional. Feed her breakfast for several days, engage in polite conversation, and you will eventually get a different result (enabling you to move forward).
how do i do the tree stump puzzle do you use 2 hands to do it i cant do it its pissing me off
Yeah you need to use three separate fingers, but don’t think of it as a puzzle to solve. The dial and switches won’t stay in place. The idea is to just see which arrow lights up so you know which cave to enter.
I’m also stuck at the tree stump. No mater what I do on the puzzle or which path I take the cave is blocked. Starting to get pissed off too. HELP!!!!
@Mary, see my earlier comment about following the map exactly from the very beginning. If you try to pick up the trail midway, the cave door won’t open.
Hi. Thanks for the walkthrough. I can’t understand the penta puzzle on the floor of the chapel.
I have the chalkboard photo, but I can’t see the connection, or how to set the pointers.
Grateful for your help.
Rick
The dots represent the dots on the chalkboard. You move the pointers/arrows just by tapping them.
@Rick : I was stucked on this one too.
You must look at the numbers of dots of each shape on the chalkboard.
If the shape with 3 dots points at the shape with 5 dots (I don’t have the pic, it’s just an example), then, on he Chapel pentagon, the 3 dots arrow must point at the 5 dots arrow.
@AppUnwrapper : thanks a lot for this walkthrough, it helped me three times 🙂
Great series of game. Nearly the same quality as the “1112” series.
Glad to help! 🙂
I still haven’t played 1112. I started once and didn’t get pulled in. Maybe I should give it another go sometime.
1112 is awesome but a bit slow to start. And the first episode is clearly less interesting than the others.
You should definitely give it another try if you liked Forever Lost ! 🙂
I have so many games I’ll probably never have time to play, but will keep that on my list! 🙂
Finished it now. A great game. Thank you again for the walkthrough and your help.
Glad to help! 🙂
How do you get the ladder I have looked everywhere and I can’t seem to find it in your walk through either
Hmm I’ll double check but it should be in there. You climb up it fairly early on.
I figured it out. Not sure how i missed that one.. It was kinda obvious.
You’re not the only one. 😉
Where on earth is the ladder, I’ve spent so much time looking for it..??
If you want just a hint, you climbed up it once. Near the beginning of the game.
In the house near forest.
TOO FREAKY! I loved it! But now I need to know what would have happened if I’d taken the other pill! I have goosebumps with this conclusion of the game. I’ve waited patiently (ok, maybe not patiently!) for Episode 3 to come out. And it didn’t disappoint.
🙂
They’re pretty similar. But the ending does leave some questions!
I think you are “supposed” to take the blue. In episode 1, written on the wall of the solitary confinement room, it says “why oh why didn’t I take the blue pill.”
Did it really?! OMG I missed that.
It’s the same ending for each pill.
Yeah, what exactly happens if you take the red pill? (the walkthrough shows what happens when you take the blue one) What is different?
They’re very similar. I think I tried both, but now I can’t remember.
Maybe I actually took the pill! 😛
Blue –> collapsed, then wake up at the last room….like repeating the cycles scientist-rat again maybe on another episodes….LOL…
Red –> collapsed, heard ur wife voice….then full black out…..bye – bye
I hear her voice with blue, too.
I just cannot retrieve the ladder from the first part for the wall jump. I think I’ve tried everything but it just keeps taking me up the ladder.
Help please.
Not sure why you need to pick it up again…?
I was trying to pick up wrong ladders. Then I remembered the ladders in the cabin.
Ahh ok. I thought you were trying to get the ladder back after placing it down.
How do you find the lantern?
It’s in the cave.
Sussed it out too
🙂
Great walkthrough! I may have a glitch (lol) or I may have missed something but I can’t get the metal vent to open so I can finish the game! The number four handle thingy is missing. I’ve looked everywhere. Could this be a glitch? Should I delete then reload the app? Thank you
It’s missing? That’s really odd. Are you sure it’s not in your bag?
Yes…I checked and double checked. I guess I’ll have to delete the app and re-download…..which means playing the game again….which will be great!!….
unless I run into the same issue….
I would suggest also reporting it to the devs so they know about it!
I’m missing the #3 lever ! Ughhh. I don’t wanna star over! Did you ever find it?
I haven’t heard of this problem before. I just emailed to developers to see if they’re aware of it.
Thank you! Love your site.
Ok, so Graham said the best thing for you to do would be to export your save file from the menu and email it to them. (let me know if you can’t figure out how)
No
Ok, so Graham said the best thing for you to do would be to export your save file from the menu and email it to them. (let me know if you can’t figure out how)
I deleted then re-added the game and it worked perfectly!
I Can’t Find The Latern & I Restarted Two Times 🙁
Why did you restart? You mean the lantern is missing? Like a bug?
Yeah , I Don’t Know Where You’re Suppose To Get It From
You don’t pick it up. It’s just use in the cave to light up the room.
Hey sorry I can’t find the token for getting the paper..where did i miss?
Found it????
I still can’t find the token for the paper puzzle, can you please give me a hint or just tell me?
You can check the calendar in the room
I can’t find the ladder where is it? I checked the whole chapters couldn’t find it
Hi, thank you very much for the walkthrough it had been a huge help! I just cant seem to find the square puzzle for the puzzle in the childs room! Can someone help me to locate it? I got the three other puzzle. 🙂
I think that’s the first puzzle piece you find, but I’ll double-check.
It’s in the postbox near the contaminated fountain
Hey your full guides were amazing and i picked red one what would happen if i picked up blue one?
What will happen if you take the red pill I’m at the part where you choose to take the pills and I don’t know what to Choose! What if it’s a trick!!
Somehow I missed getting the film. Where can I find it? Thanks!
Never mind, I found my mistake.
Hi there! I started the game yesterday and I”m in the Ferris Muelers game and can’t get back out! I think I somehow jumped further into the game than I was supposed to? I can’t figure out how to back out of the video game to the video game room and it feels like I”m learning parts of the story that are supposed to be at the end? Would the game allow you to move ahead before you were supposed to? and how can I get out of the video game? I talked to Alice and the hotel manager and got the wall safe figured out and talked to Hugo, but I”ve not done much else in the game. Help!
Hi, I actually separated the Ferris Mueller game into its own walkthrough. Hopefully it’ll help you with the part you’re stuck on: https://www.appunwrapper.com/2015/07/09/forever-lost-episode-3-ferris-mueller-game-walkthrough/
I have been stuck on the long green code to the door in the manor. I think its supposed to be the theater door?
Did you get all the numbers from the Glitch soap?
List the sins you are having trouble on got the code plus this walkthrough will help
I am having rouble with the window pane puzzle in the cabin at the the top of the ladder I put the sequence in but nothing happens can you help me
Make sure that the symbols are in the correct spaces by comparing them to the clues on both the left and the right window panes.
I love this game and your walk through helps a lot because no matter how many times I play I still can’t figure out the concept of the puzzle in the chapel which is also like the puzzle in the first one in one of the patient rooms
Think about the number of dots in each symbol on the playroom chalkboard. How would you duplicate the sequence on the chalkboard with the arrows In the chapel?
Y I can’t get in the kitchen?help…
You don’t need to get into the kitchen.
