This will be a complete step-by-step walkthrough for the iOS and Android game 99 The Escape Game. Note: I can’t install this game yet, as I’m on an older iOS version than required. I created this post so players can help each other out until I can play the game myself.

    We are stuck!
    Has anyone done a walkthrough

  2. Bill

    Not on Android yet.

  3. Jan

the same problem here! have no idea what to do at the very beginning! have already finished all three parts of the Yellow room, but this seems to be much harder..It is a brand new game so we have to wait, i guess..or maybe we find some solution..

  4. Dotty

Have just tried counting down on the doors by pressing all the way to 0 it just says times up you lose and then a reset button so that didn’t do anything?

      Me too

I have made some small progress, but am now stuck. So, sharing what little I have done so far:

Open the drawer in the 1st room. Click just above the handle (top edge of drawer) and you’ll see 2 sliders move together. That lets you remove the handle.

Now go over to red and blue circles. If you put the handle in one, the tip changes to that color. so, handle starts out red, but turns blue if you put in the blue circle. That will let you use it to unlock the door that has a blue circle under it.

So, go into 2nd room. You can get a vase off of one wall (not sure what to do with it yet). There are a bunch of books and shelves on each wall. Going clockwise around the room, the number of shelves per wall is: 7, 4, 5, 6.

So, go back to the 1st room. You can put the handle into a hole under the monitor on the wall. If you put in the handle while it has a blue tip, you see a dash. It’s actually a picture of a shelf. So, enter those numbers above (7, 4, 5, 6) in the top/right/bottom/left areas on the screen. You enter numbers by pressing the screen to create dots (up to 9 dots per area).

OK, now a blue triangle pops out. You can use that as a door stop for the door between the 1st and 2nd rooms. So, unlock door using the blue tip handle, and tap the door with the triangle selected. You’ll see the triangle as a door stop.

Now that the door is propped open, you can make the handle tip red (using red circle on wall) and open a door in the 2nd room with a red lock. That gets you into a 3rd room!

    Questions:
    1. When you put the red tip handle in the hole under the monitor in room 1, you see a plus sign. Not sure what that refers to.
    2. Tree in 1st room seems to suggest a pattern in the leaves (see arrow at base of tree), and you might use that in the birdhouse in the 2nd room, but not sure how.
    3. In the 3rd room, if you approach the monitor with the yellow dot, it turns blue. Back out and dot turns red. Then, move right/right/left/left (from clue in book in drawer in 1st room) and the pattern that emerges is red/red/gray/red/yellow. Those are the colors of buttons on the box in the drawer in the 1st room! But I enter the code and nothing happens.

So I am stuck. Good luck, and please share any progress.

Tried to send progress to date in a long post – might need to split up.

    1. Dotty

I don’t know the numbers but I randomly tapped the telly bit with the red knob in and it came up with a plus sign and then it gave me a red ball with a number 3 on it( the blue triangle has a number 2 on it) don’t know if it helps you or not?

      1. Dotty

When I got into the 3rd room when I place the red ball into the black top holes it comes out at the bottom yellow then on another wall it comes out a gold colour but that’s it up to now will keep you all informed

  10. Dotty

Also when you’re in 3 room the colour in boxes on the walls near the tree keep changing in each time you go round it matches the square on the 2 room pink/ blue/ grey /yellow

    1. BranMan

A little more progress – I also got the red ball using the red tip handle in the TV screen. Not sure the code, I was guessing.

The number of books on the walls in room 2 provides a clue how to use the ball. There are 8 groups of books, so count the number of books per group and you get numbers from 1 to 8. There are 8 pairs of holes in room 3, and if you drop the ball in one of the top holes it comes out the bottom hole below it. It also (might) change color. So, if you drop the ball in the holes in the pattern suggested by groups of books, the ball changes color in the following pattern:

      Red/Red/Red/Tan/Tan/Yellow/Red/Tan

Type that code into the box in the drawer in room 1 and you get a wrench.

Wrench removes the 4 color square in room 2, revealing a blue hole and a green hole. So, now you can turn the handle tip green.

Go back to TV screen and put in green tip handle. You see a vertical line. Enter code (did it but again guessing) and get a green square.

That fits in the birdhouse in room 2, and you can now press the 4 green dots. I think the tree is the code to this puzzle, but canΓÇÖt quite figure it out yet.

    2. BranMan

I think that is actually a pattern from the book in the room 1 drawer. Dot in box is first yellow, but if you approach it turns blue, and then if you back up it turns red. Then if you go right-right-left-left, based on the arrows in the book, you get Red/Red/Tan/Red/Yellow. Not sure what to do with that

      1. Dotty

Have you managed to get red ball yet and put it into the black holes so it changes colour?

  11. BranMan

    1. Danielle

Ok. So after you get wrench and take down color panel in 2nd room, open red door and put blue trianagle down as a stopper. Then change red knob to green. Use green to open door. Use blue to turn on water. Fill vase with water. Take back blue knob.
Go back to first room, use water on plant. Get code by direction of leaves.
Down, right, left, down, right, up, down

Use green knob in TV. I also guessed. Get green square. Go to bird house in 2nd room, and pressed buttons with code from plant. Get another knob. Make it red, and retrieve triangle.

Go back to fourth room and put in circle, triangle, square and get key. Retrieve all objects.
Wall with TV, remember book in drawer.
      1>><>/triangle/circle/square/<<
Put that code in and TV will turn on with 99 and it resets your room number. Then I'm stuck.
Maybe after we get key we are suppose to run the room number down and use it in box? Or do we need another knob to open door in room 4? Ugh! Now I'm stuck! Hope this helps!

      1. Danielle

        TV code messed up.
        1>><>/triangle/circle/square/<<
Sorry. It keeps messing up when I type.

  12. Dotty

Btw what room number are you on now? I’m on 40 and I don’t really want to restart as I don’t no the combination of the plus sign puzzle(where I got red ball from)

  13. Danielle

When you goon 3rd room and you see a tree on one wall and the wall with the tv with the yellow circle. The colors are a clue from the 2nd room.
    Blue=down
    Grey=left
    Purple=right
    Yellow=up
So when you click on the yellow, it changes to blue. Then click down. It changes to purple, click right. When you go right, you see purple again. Click right, then you get grey, click left and so on. When you finally see yellow again, click on it and it should unlock the drawer and you will get a screwdriver.

    1. Dotty

Brilliant! thanks will try it I haven’t got many doors left though and I don’t want to have to start again cos I don’t know the code in the room where the telly is with the plus sign puzzle is ( I randomly touched it and it unlocked a red ball with 2 on it , you put it in the room with the black pipes on the wall and it changes the colour of the ball to yellow and browny/tan)
      Have you done that bit?

  14. Danielle

Use screwdriver to unlock the other knob in 2nd room. After you get the other knob, put the red knob in and the room will turn red. Back up and notice that there are now white lines intersecting the shelves. Count how many shelves interest with the lines on each wall and use that in room one with the red knob and the TV. This will get you the red ball with a 3 on it.

  15. Dotty

Shit. Just seen your second post ignore my ramblings!

  16. Danielle

I’m stuck after getting the ball. I’ve put the ball in each hole and I have no clue what it means. I know it has something to do with the box in the drawer in first room. I just can’t figure it out.

  17. Dotty

I’m stuck there too. I’ve put the ball into each tube and made a note of each colour sequence and tried tapping the colours on the box in that sequence but no luck yet.

  18. Bob

Put The Ball in The HolEs in the order given By Books YOu Got colors FOr The box

  19. Dotty

What books? what colours for? can you please explain in more details

I was able to escape but still am having issues posting to this site. If this gets resolved I can post a walkthrough.

    1. Dotty

Can’t you post it on appunwrapper’a Facebook page ?

      1. AppUnwrapper

If it’s a comment that got stuck in my spam folder, I’ll go fish it out.

If you want me to post some photos, you can email them to me.

  22. Danielle

Can’t get past the ball and the holes in the wall. I’m so confused. Must be overthinking this. Help anyone?

    1. Dotty

      Me too?

  23. Danielle

So I think I finished the game but I’m not certain. After you get key from wall in fourth room, you can run wall number to zero and then use red knob on drawer and use key on box. Get another key and use on door and you escape.
Now here’s why I’m confused…. In fourth room on wall is picture of door with four knob holes around it. There is also another door in there that you can’t open. So, is there more to this game? Suggestions?

  24. BranMan

You are so close! So now you have 3 knobs. You should make one red, one green and one blue. Then in the last room, put those into the wall with 4 holes around a picture of a door as follows: Blue, Red, Green, starting at top and reading clockwise.

It will create an opening back to the first room! So, take the 99 key which will then open the wooden door in the first room. But there is a trick: you can’t open the wood door unless the number on the wall reads 99. So, you have to reset the number to 99 and then get to the wood door in under 4 moves so the number does not change. Then you can get out.

I also found that once you get the key, you can run the numbers to zero, get to the dark room, and then open the drawer in that room with your red knob. That drawer has a box with a keyhole. You can use the 99 key on that too to get out.

    1. Danielle

Awesome! Thanks! So there are two ways out but yours must be the correct way. Done! This one was definitely tricky. Took a lot of thinking. These are the ones I love! If you have tried The Room yet, you totally have to try it. It costs money, but totally worth it. Thanks!!!!

  25. BranMan

Me too. I have liked all games by this developer. And sure I love the room. Amazing game. Room 3 is supposed to come out very soon!

    1. Danielle

I know! I can’t wait. I check everyday. Hopefully soon! How bout Forever Lost series?

      1. BranMan

Yep, all over that. How about Puzzle House – Mystery Rising?

        1. Danielle

No I haven’t. Just downloaded it. There rent many room escape games I haven’t done. I’m obsessed. I’m gonna give this one a go now.

  26. Dotty

Does anyone know the number combination for the green knob tv puzzle, I thought the numbers were “6,8,4,5. I have tried every combination and every point around the | but no luck.

    1. BranMan

Starting at top and going clockwise: 2 2 3 3

  27. Dotty

    Well done you guys!
    I didn’t make it out, I lost!?

  28. Cheri

Could use just a little hint on the birdhouse code. I have tried the green tree, thought maybe the Cupid (Angel) floating over the birdhouse? What the heck am I missing? Thanks everyone for your great input!

    1. Danielle

I put the code in one of my other posts. Check it and see if it helps.

      1. Cheri

Thanks Danielle, I hadn’t read through your whole posts yet, I like to try to get through them n my own first! So, I am just a little ahead of myself.

  29. Calliecat

    Has anyone solved room 5?
