I don’t usually give individual game sales their own posts these days, but a deal like this needs to be shouted from the rooftops. Jonathan Blow’s The Witness debuted for $40 on PC, and cost only $9.99 when it made its way over to iOS. So that was already a great deal for a game that was one of my favorite games of 2017. But now it’s on sale for $4.99, half the price it normally is and a steal for the amount of content you’re getting.
For some context, I made more gameplay videos for The Witness than any other game I’ve played, I solved over four hundred puzzles, and I’m still not finished. Each puzzle is also hand-crafted and teaches you something new, so it’s not like those free apps that generate thousands of filler puzzles. There’s also secrets to uncover and gorgeous visuals to go along with it, making it easy to get lost in it for hours.
That said, it is an open world game that doesn’t feel quite perfect on touchscreen devices, especially smaller ones. But it does have iCloud sync, so you can play on your iPad at home and still take it on the go using your iPhone. You can read my full review here and watch some gameplay videos here. But this is a crazy low price for such a huge game with so much packed into it. I don’t think it’s ever going to go lower than this price — and it shouldn’t! So if you have any interest in the game whatsoever, grab it now.

Thank you. I was waiting for it to go on sale 🙂
It’s actually annoying to play on computer.
Speaking of, you should try finishing it sometime. You think you explored everywhere, but I promise you. There is a huge place you havenΓÇÖt explored yet. I wonΓÇÖt spoil it for you. There is much more Easter eggs also for you to discover.
I use a mouse on my PC and maneuverability is awful with a mouse. If you think you got sick on a iPad – don’t try it on a PC.
I thought you had a w/t posted but I cannot locate it. I did find your post with Videos but I don’t think they’re yours. They show the way to solve but I’m trying to figure out the rules. Like “the white boxes, black boxes and black hexagons” – no idea and I hate having to follow a w/t every step of the way.
Is there a thread “anywhere” with hints & clues about how to do the puzzles?
Sometimes it’s not that I can’t solve it, but that I don’t understand what is needed.
The videos are mine, but itΓÇÖs not a walkthrough so much as me just playing and solving puzzles.
heheheh never mind – I googled “how to play The Witness” and found several.
lol. gotta love google.
Awesome – you have a very methodical and rational mind. It’s easy to follow your videos.
