Cube Escape: Paradox is the latest addition to the Rusty Lake franchise of quirky room escape games. It’s the tenth Cube Escape game and thirteenth Rusty Lake game. It can be tricky, so this walkthrough guide should help you if you get stuck. Feel free to ask for extra help in the comments section.

Walkthrough:

Chapter 1 | Chapter 2 Page 1 | Page 2 | Page 3 | Page 4 | Page 5 | Page 6 | Page 7 | Page 8 | Achievements | Alternate Endings | Other Games

You can watch my video for Chapter 2 or continue on for my step-by-step guide.

31. Go to that red box and use the magnifying glass to find TV 278.

32. Change the channel on the TV to 278. It shows a magnifying glass by the fish.

33. Use the magnifying glass on the corner of the drawer that holds the fish. There’s a square. Open it and grab the globe key.

34. Place the globe key on the globe. We have another journey to map out!

35. Open the globe and tap the brain three times to go into it.

36. You need to defend the brain from bugs. Move those little circles around to spots where they can shoot down the bugs before they get to the center. I think you’re allowed to let one or two through and still win. Then zoom back out and tap the brain a few times to shrink it down and take it.

37. Go to the mirror and place the present mind in your head.

38. Turn right. It’s Mr. Crow! Talk to him and he asks for coffee. Take the cup from him. Look at the psychological test by his feet. Open it and take the seed and cassette tape.

39. Play the cassette tape. On it, Mr. Crow shows Mr. Vandermeer five images and asks him to describe what he sees. It goes:

1. Moth
2. Crow
3. Murder
4. Fear
5. My corrupted soul

40. The phone book explains how to make coffee. You need coffee, water and fuel. Fill the cup with water from one of the body part jars (ewww). Then plant the seed in the planter and pour the water on it. It will grow into a coffee plant! Pick the coffee beans.

41. Fill the cup with water from another body part (yuck). Pour the water into the coffee maker.

42. Now we need fuel. Remember the leaky battery in the projector? It’s oil! Fill the cup with it.

43. Now to figure out how to grind the coffee beans. The windmill is a coffee grinder! Place the beans in the center and turn the blades to grind it. Take the coffee grinds.

44. Add the oil to the fuel tank in the coffee maker. Add the coffee grinds to the filter. Use the burning cigar to light the fuel. Then close everything up and pour the coffee into the cup. Take the cup with coffee.

45. Give the cup of coffee to Mr. Crow. He’ll spit it out onto the psychological test. Talk to him more and he’ll say:

“Let’s find the traumas of your past.
Please complete the tests.
Face your darkest memories.”

The last set is in the numerical order of flags color. The first one being the green one.
By the way great work. Your walkthroughs are really helpful. Keep it up.

I had the same issue, I had to play and then stop the tape right after for it to work. Also try rewinding it.

Play the song backwards… I had a hard time with this one too. I guess forwards makes him fly off and backwards makes him return.

Out of interest the words on the walls used for the box puzzle translate from Hindi to:

वरतमान – Present
अतीत – Past
भवषिय – Expected (Future?)

I can’t work out the last one on the right!

Maja

Google translates the one on the right, प्रेत, to “phantom”.

I worked so hard without a walkthrough and then I got to the part when you have to set the TV to 207. It stays black. Nothing happens. I have tried everything. 🙁

Ever figure out what the 3 empty squares that are found on several different pictures in both games are for? It’s driving me crazy trying to figure it out lol!

Amanda

I solved the symbols box correctly, but it won’t open. Am I missing something? I even reset the game and did it again. Nothing.

Have you made sure the symbols are centered in the squares? It happened to me once and realized if I clicked on each symbol, they would align. That solved the issue for me.

There are two different type of triangles, one with a line and one with a dot. Make sure you’re using the right one.

Ok, thank you for explaining the clock puzzle. I HATE that solution, because it doesn’t follow the logic most of the Rusty Lake puzzles follow. I thought the health guide book was simply trying to show that the window shape was the clue for solving the clock. And the deer, well I guess I didn’t figure out that part of it, but it said the past is never dead so I figured it had something to do with the past mind, which was not the case. Arrows on the notebook, or maybe an “=” sign or something that made it more clear that the room layout correlates to the clock would have helped. BUT the clock isn’t like a combo lock, there are only a 12×12 combos in this game, so I ended up brute forcing my way through that one. Not proud of it, and it took a lot away from my enjoyment of the game to do that, but I was messing around and got one on accident. Tried really hard to figure it out AFTER I had the combos, and it still made no sense to me. Was the only puzzle in this game I didn’t solve properly, but I’m still glad I didn’t have to go to a walkthrough til after. The 8 antlers and 4 squares on the door kept making me think those numbers had something to do with it. Oh well…
