The White Door
By: Rusty Lake / Second Maze
The White Door is the latest point-and-click adventure game from Rusty Lake. It ties into the whole Cube Escape and Rusty Lake universe. It’s generally easier than their previous games, but if you get stuck, this walkthrough guide should help you. This section is for the Basement. Feel free to ask for extra help in the comments section.
NOTE: This is getting very long, so I’m splitting it into pages, as follows:
Now that it’s January 22nd, we can access the Basement! This is how you do it:
During DREAM 3, if you do everything necessary to get the achievement, you’ll see a phone number on the TV. Call that number — +31202443854 — on a real phone and Mr. Owl will answer and tell you that the White Door is closed right now, but to visit http://www.mentalhealthandfishing.com/ after January 22nd.
First, watch this video uploaded to the Rusty Lake Youtube channel:
The video is about the body of Dr. Hoorn being found. At the end of the video, you see a black cube and some words being read backwards. If you reverse them, you get the numbers 7281003. This was used to unlock Robert Hill’s location on the map (see below) and no longer has a use.
You can try emailing them using the email address on their Contact page: [email protected]
There’s this interview with Dr. Hoorn:
If you copy the empty space after “Personally, I am a great art lover. I often visit museums and galleries, I have a particular interest in Van Gogh’s work:”
It says: “Bedroom in Arles”
It’s referring to Cube Escape: Arles, and I’ll explain further down where it’s used.
It also tells you that Dr. Hoorn’s daughter’s name is Kirsten Hoorn. And it turns out she has her own YouTube channel! Here’s a video of her father playing ping pong:
She also has an Instagram account that provides other information that we need.
There’s also the About Us page:
The photo above the test shows the person checking off the first box, so the answer to the first question is the first box (or 1).
There’s another test answer on the Contact page image. If you open the photo in a new window, you can see it’s named photo_caring(2).png. It tells you that the answer to Question 2 is the first box.
Dr. J. Gonzalez has an X on his shirt pocket, which is another clue for the test. If you open the photo in a new window, you can it’s named gonzales3_5.jpg. He’s the 5th doctor on the page, so check off the 5th box for Question 3.
Figure 4 under Research mentions “cross the line” and the red and blue lines cross at 3, so that’s how we know that the answer to Question 4 is 3.
This photo under Research is another clue for the test. If you open the image in a new window, you can see it’s named photo_research(5).png. It tells you that the answer to Question 5 is the fourth box.
Figure 6 under Research looks like Braille.
A BLACK CUBE! The answer to Question 6 on the test is A BLACK CUBE.
For Figure 7, note down the number for each bar and then translate it to a letter in the alphabet. So you get:
5, 14, 12, 9, 7, 8, 20, 5, 14, 13, 5, 14, 20
That spells out ENLIGHTENMENT, so the answer to question 7 on the test is ENLIGHTENMENT.
For question 8, view page source (html code) of the services page. You’ll see the code pictured below.
The decoding works this way: take 6th letter of Medit’a’tion = A, 1st letter of ‘C’ognitive Stimulation therapy = C, and so on. You will get A CABIN AT A LAKE. That’s the answer to Question 8 on the test!
Under Testimonials, look at the last one by Ursule Lasnick (9). The 9 tells you it’s the answer to the 9th question. And if you circle all the first letters of each sentence, you get MY CORRUPTED SOUL.
On the Homepage, you can see the text, “the past is Never Dead.” So the answer to Question 10 is NEVER DEAD.
