The Almost Gone: Act 5 Walkthrough Guide

The Almost Gone
By: Happy Volcano / Playdigious

The Almost Gone is a puzzle adventure game from Happy Volcano and Playdigious with a really unique control scheme. Each scene is a diorama, and you can rotate it to see it from different angles. The idea is to look for items and clues to unlock doors and progress through the game. This walkthrough guide should help you if you get stuck. Feel free to ask for extra help in the comments section.

Walkthrough:

Act 1 | Act 2 | Act 3 | Act 4 | Act 5

Act 5, The Forest:

1. Click through to complete the boat ride and get to the treehouse.

2. Examine the map on the wall for a clue.

3. Head right. Look through the telescope and find another constellation in the sky.

4. If you continue right, you reach the globe. But this time there are only names, not constellations. So continue right again and look at the poster to find the names of the two constellations you found. It’s Sagittarius and Aquarius.

5. Go back to the globe and press the buttons by those two names. Then take the key.

6. Use the key to unlock the door in the same room and then go through. Tap on the bed to go to sleep and complete the game.

And that’s the end of The Almost Gone! Congratulations!

So… They made this weird and emotionally heavy just for the sake of it being weird and emotionally heavy? There is no resolvement of the story of any kind. What was the goo? Or the growing tree? Is character dead, in another dimension, in a fever dream or in the crazy house being medicated themselves? I usually love a weird/eerie vibe in a game, but it always had somekind of resolvement where the story came together in the end. This was very disappointing to be honest.

I completely agree.. usually I search for clues, and come to my own conclusion, then see if it matches the explanation at the end. I have SO many questions like you, and I’m frustrated they haven’t been answered.. I was really into the game, too..

His father was a troubled boy, the bones of animals hidden in his room and the disturbing drawings. Likely the father was abusive to the mother. The mother tried to divorce him, but I’m sure that didn’t go well. I think the mother killed him and was sent to a psych hospital, where she died. As far as the main character I’m not sure if he committed suicide or not. I presume based on the dreamy like quality of the game, it was his last moments of life. Like his life flashing before his eyes. Just my interpretation.
