My Week Unwrapped: November 26, 2021 – Kingdom Two Crowns, Kathy Rain, Stranger Things, Genshin Impact and More

Hi everyone, and welcome back to My Week Unwrapped, where I discuss all the games I’ve been playing over the last seven days. It’s been a quiet week because of the holidays, so I didn’t play any new games. I did fall back into the Kingdom Two Crowns hole again and resumed Kathy Rain Director’s Cut, which I had skipped for a few weeks. Other than that, I’ve mostly been spending my time in Genshin Impact and with the new beta content of Sky. So it wasn’t a super eventful week but hopefully things will be busier next week. Still, take a look at what I’ve been up to.

Kingdom Two Crowns: Norse Lands

It had been a while since I last played Kingdom Two Crowns and I had forgotten how a lot of things work. So even though I had invested a lot of time into my first Norse Lands run, I decided to start over. It’s been going a lot better now, though I did die once. I’m not too bothered by that, as I never managed to get through any of the campaigns without dying. I’m more concerned about getting to the end. I like being able to relax more with it and not worry too much about death. Mainly, I wanted to prevent the Greed from stealing my gems, because they’re hard to get back. So far they haven’t taken any in this run, so I’d call that a success. I’m still learning what some of the new mounts and upgrades do, but it’s so easy to get sucked in and see the hours fly by. If you haven’t played the game yet, please do — unless you don’t like games that have a way of eating up your time without you realizing it.

Kathy Rain: The Director’s Cut

Like I mentioned, I had a busy few weeks and didn’t have time for Kathy Rain. But since this was a quieter week, I picked up where I left off. I’ve now played through the third day and we’re seeing some of the weirder aspects of the game. I can’t really tell what’s different compared to the original game, but I’m still enjoying revisiting it. You can see my playthrough of the third day in the video below.

Stranger Things: Puzzle Tales

I know I said this last week, but I think I’m really done with Stranger Things: Puzzle Tales now. I got two characters promoted past three stars so they can be leveled to 120, but I’m still heavily relying on luck to make any progress in the story. It’s just too much of a grind fest to get to the point where you can level your characters again. I think it’s just time to move on.

Genshin Impact

This week, we finally got update 2.3 of Genshin Impact, which brought with it its first double banner. Albedo and Eula got rerun banners at the same time so you can pull for either one or both. I’m not pulling at all because I’m saving up for Itto, Zhongli and Yae Miko. But there is a new event called Shadows Amidst Snowstorms that takes place in Dragonspine and has us building snowmen. We also get to see Albedo and Eula again. There are also new hangouts for Gorou and Beidou. And Gorou’s hangout made me even more desperate to get Yae Miko since she’s such a tease. Overall, it’s a solid update, but I’m still eagerly awaiting Itto’s arrival. I even killed the new boss, the Golden Wolflord, a few times so I’d have some of his materials for Itto if I manage to get him. I’ll have more about the new events next week, but I’m still not tired of Genshin Impact in case anyone was wondering.

Sky: Children of the Light

And last, the beta version of Sky is currently testing the next season. If you don’t want spoilers, skip ahead. For those who don’t mind, it will be called the Season of Abyss and take place in a new underwater area. We learn the ability to dive and then can go underwater and swim around. The catch is that if you run out of air, you start to lose wings. There are things underwater that can help restore your oxygen levels, but a lot of the time you just have to make a quick escape to the surface. I like the whole idea, but I’m having trouble getting used to the diving controls. I also wish it wasn’t so easy to run out of oxygen, because it makes it hard to truly explore. But I’m glad they’re trying something new. I also showed off the upcoming Days of Fortune items, which include a tiger mask and fish costume. They all look great, but some can only be obtained through IAPs. Anyway, if you want to know more you can watch my video below.

And that’s everything I’ve been playing this past week. I also got sucked into Midnight Mass and am finally past all the predictable stuff that I saw coming a mile away. Anyway, let me know in the comments section which games you’re enjoying and I’ll see you back here next time with more of My Week Unwrapped!
