Kingdom Two Crowns – Call of Olympus DLC
By: Raw Fury
Kingdom Two Crowns has already given us multiple campaigns, but now there’s a huge new DLC named Call of Olympus, which focuses on Ancient Greece and features mythological beasts as mounts, like Cerberus, a chimera, and even the legendary Pegasus. I’m still playing through it for the first time and learning about it, but here you’ll be able to find all my gameplay videos and see how the mounts I’ve unlocked work. I’ll also include some tips and tricks. Feel free to ask for extra help in the comments section.
Tips & Tricks:
– This campaign is different than the others in that you get to choose between 5 smaller islands and build up your army there before unlocking and taking on more challenging islands.
– The torch you see that takes one coin at a time is the Oracle giving you hints as to what you should be doing next. Don’t waste too many coins on it like I did when I was trying to figure out what it was, but it can be helpful if you’re not sure whether you completed everything that you need to on an island.
– You can use the hoplites (pikemen) with some archers to attack the portals. Just feed two coins to the green flag near your wall and they’ll follow you. Don’t let the pikemen get too close to the portal, though, because they can get killed. Let the archers do most of the damage while the pikemen protect them. You can also use this mini army to explore at night with less risk.
– On some islands, you’ll see an idol stuck in the ground. If you feed it a coin to pick it up, the ground will erupt, so run out of the way. You then need to build a temple on the other side of the island where you destroyed the portal and then you can drop the idol there to get a gift from the gods and a little boat that can carry more men and also attack portals with a ballista.
– From the mounts I’ve tried so far, I like Cerberus the best. His little ghost army is very handy against the greed. I’ll update this as I unlock more. (Update: I’m not loving Cerberus as much now that I have Breeders attacking my camp. The ghost archers are charging in and getting destroyed immediately.)
– Other mounts I’ve tried are the Donkey, which apparently poops bread so you don’t need a coin to recruit citizens. The Chimera pounces and lights everything on fire. He’s good at killing greed, but also puts you right in the thick of things. The Spider can spin webs that slow down the greed. The Seahorse moves fast like the hoverboard in Kingdom Eighties and can recharge anywhere. I believe Pegasus is like the ET bike from Kingdom Eighties and can fly a bit.
– Those little spirits you pick up on different islands will all be given to the giant head. I believe they’re all on the smaller islands. Make sure you get them all before you go there so you don’t have to go back like I did.
– The shield you pick up from the apple tree seems pretty awful, as it freezes your troops if they get in the line of fire.
– If you lose your dog or any of the hermits, you can buy them back from a cloaked merchant who looks similar to the one that lets you store gems. You may have noticed them early on but they did nothing at the time because you hadn’t lost anything yet. They should be on one of the smaller islands.
