Hi everyone, and welcome back to My Week Unwrapped, where I discuss all the games I’ve been playing over the last seven days. Once again, this roundup is covering the last two weeks because I didn’t have enough to talk about last week. I only played games I started the previous week, so I decided to wait on it. I spent a lot of time with the new Kingdom Two Crowns DLC and trying to catch up on Genshin Impact because I fell a bit behind. There’s a lot to discuss, so let’s begin.
Rabbiman Adventures
I didn’t realize until I started playing Rabbiman Adventures that it’s actually pronounced “rabbi man” and it focuses on a little Jewish boy with a magical tallit and hat. It seems to be geared at a younger audience, though I didn’t play enough to see how the difficulty ramps up. I played through the first level and then some tutorials which showed me how to fly with my tallit and teleport with my hat. I also got gems for completing those tutorials, though I’m not sure what they’re for. The game seems enjoyable enough for fans of the genre, but I’m not sure it’s something I’ll stick with. I recommend watching some of my gameplay video below to see what it’s like before buying.
Kingdom Two Crowns – Call of Olympus DLC
I spent a lot of time with the new Kingdom Two Crowns Call of Olympus DLC over the last couple of weeks. I wasn’t happy with my first playthrough so I decided to restart. Things went better and I got to the final battle but had to kill the app to avoid losing my crown. I’ve been afraid to go back and try again because the final battle requires some fast reflexes. I also brought a useless weapon with me and there’s no way to leave and change the weapon. I keep hoping they’ll release an update to change that because I’m afraid of not finishing the game after getting this far. I had a great time up until this point, though, and I think this DLC might have been more forgiving than all the previous campaigns. Definitely give it a go if you’re a fan of the series. If it didn’t consume my life, I’d probably consider starting another playthrough just because I find it so easy to get immersed in. I hope they continue to release more DLCs because I can never get enough Kingdom. And you can see more of my videos here.
A Little to the Left
A Little to the Left also released a couple of weeks ago and I’ve since finished the game. I really enjoyed it, though the sorting puzzles were not my favorites. I preferred those that asked you to find patterns and organize the items based on those patterns, not simply placing objects in compartments. The final level also was a bit confusing, as I wasn’t sure if I was doing the right thing. It turned out I was and I just didn’t notice that the background was changing to show I was progressing. Overall, I had a great time with it and would easily recommend it to any puzzle fans. I doubt I’ll play the dailies, but if you like the sorting puzzles then you’ll be happy to know you can come back every day for another one. I have the rest of my playthrough below if you want to see how the game progresses.
Balatro
I took a break from Balatro for a bit because of all the other games that released, but since it got a new update this week, I decided to go back to it. From what I can tell, the update only adds new themes to the face cards based on games like Slay the Spire and The Binding of Isaac. I’m not sure if they change the game in any way, though. Still, it’s nice to play again and I beat the game with another deck. I plan to play more and hopefully unlock more things. Again, if you haven’t played Balatro yet, you really should.
Genshin Impact
And last, I’ve been spending a lot of time with Genshin Impact to get all the bonus rewards for the story quests. I finished the archon quest and also Xilonen’s story quest. I have to say, Xilonen’s voice actor, Beth Curry, did such a good job that I was hanging onto her every word. I think that has to be one of the best voice acting jobs in the game. She really gave Xilonen character and you can tell she took the role seriously. It even made me throw a few extra wishes at Xilonen’s banner in the hopes of getting a constellation for her. But I didn’t have any luck there. Anyway, there’s other Natlan characters I want, so I’d rather save my wishes for them. But definitely play through her story quest if you play Genshin and haven’t done so yet.
And that’s everything I’ve been up to these last couple of weeks! I also watched both seasons of Them, which was very disturbing. I saw Speak No Evil in theaters, which was good fun. James McEvoy was just so creepy. And I’m currently watching the second season of The Devil’s Hour, which I have mixed feelings about. Anyway, let me know in the comments section which games you’re enjoying and I’ll see you back here next time with more of My Week Unwrapped!
