My Week Unwrapped: January 24, 2025 – LOK Digital, Mooselutions, Cat in Space, Leon’s Mahjong and More

Hi everyone, and welcome back to My Week Unwrapped, where I discuss all the games I’ve been playing over the last seven days. This was a busy week with some notable releases, but the highlight for me is LOK Digital. There’s a lot to discuss, so let’s get started.

LOK Digital

I wrote about LOK Digital last week when I got an early copy of the game, and I’ve since played through a few more chapters, which you can see here. I’m thoroughly enjoying it, and surprised by how tricky it can get. Now that there’s a word that allows you to draw in other letters on blank spaces, the puzzles are a lot more open-ended and harder to brute force. I’m excited to see where the rest of the chapters go and I hope it smart enough to complete it! The game is now available to download on the App Store and it includes a free demo you can try before deciding whether to pay for the full game. So go do that!

Mooselutions

Mooselutions is another puzzle game that was first available on PC but came to mobile a few days ago. The goal in each level is to get to your axe, but there’s either moose in the way or a gate that only opens when all the floor switches are pressed. If you walk in a moose’s line of sight, it will charge into you. You do have time to move out of his way if there’s room, though. What gets tricky is when you need to get several moose to land on different floor switches and then keep them there while you work on the other switches. I’ve played through about 15 levels so far and they’re getting much more elaborate and requiring more planning. I do like the game, but I don’t find it as relaxing as LOK. I recommend watching some of my gameplay videos to see if it’s something you’d enjoy.

Adventures of a Cat in Space

Adventures of a Cat in Space is not coming out for a while, but the demo will be available on February 24th. I was sent an early copy and had to play it right away because it just looked so cute. I immediately fell in love, thanks to Arthur Darvill’s singing of the theme song. He also voices the spaceship’s computer that guides the cat. The demo is shorter than I would have liked — I was really getting into it — but it did a good job showcasing the kind of humor we can expect from the full game. I know it’s meant to be a family-friendly game and the puzzles so far were on the easy side, but I’m genuinely excited to play more. The humor is right up my alley and the voice acting is spot-on. Plus, you play as a cat. There’s just so many selling points here. But definitely pre-order the demo and then join me in not-so-patiently waiting for the rest of the game.

Leon’s Mahjong

At one time, I was a big fan of Mahjong Solitaire. That was before the games market became absolutely flooded with more games than I could play in ten lifetimes. Now, don’t get me wrong — it’s still a great way to pass some time without having to think too much. But these days, my favorite time wasters are match-three games, especially Six Match. I guess you can say I’ve moved on from matching two tiles and needed something a bit more exciting? That said, I wanted to give Leon’s Mahjong a try when it went on sale for free this week. I spent about an hour with it, as that’s how long it took me to win a game. I like the pixel graphics, though at times I found them a bit distracting. I do appreciate that the game is premium without ads or IAPs, because I’ve noticed that most of the mahjong games in the App Store are free-to-play. You basically get exactly what you expect here. So if you’re looking for mahjong solitaire without the ads and IAPs, grab Leon’s Mahjong.

Genshin Impact

I played Genshin Impact this week, but I only really played through the combat event. I was struggling with it on my own, so a friend helped me get all the rewards I missed, but I didn’t record that. It looks like the Lantern Rite started today but I’ll check that out tomorrow. Version 5.4 was also previewed and I’m excited about that coming in a few weeks.

And that’s everything I’ve been up to this week. I also saw The Colors Within, but I wasn’t impressed. I was barely able to sit through it. I’m also giving Andor a try, since I liked The Mandalorian so much, but I’m not sold on it just yet. Anyway, let me know in the comments what games you’ve been playing and I’ll see you back here next time with more of My Week Unwrapped!

I’m so looking forward to Adventures of a Cat in Space. Thank you for giving us the heads up! I think the last point and click that had a cat character as the main was Captain Mimo (that was really difficult!) Thank you for this blog. I read your reviews weekly and check out and purchase many of your recommendations.
