My Week Unwrapped: February 21, 2025 – Tiny Robots Portal Escape, Grand Mountain Adventure 2, Carmen Sandiego and More

Hi everyone, and welcome back to My Week Unwrapped, where I discuss all the games I’ve been playing over the last seven days. Once again, this will cover two weeks of games instead of just one. I spent the most time with a new puzzle game from Snapbreak, but I also finished up the current content in Carmen Sandiego. There’s also a lot going on in Genshin Impact at the moment. Let’s discuss!

Tiny Robots Portal Escape

Snapbreak has published a lot of great puzzle and adventure games over the years, and the latest is Tiny Robots Portal Escape from Bigloop. It has you playing as a robot named Telly who has to jump through different portals looking for his grandpa who was kidnapped. Each level is like a 3D diorama that you can rotate around. You tap on sections to zoom in and look for items, then drag items to other object to use them. There are also separate puzzles to solve in each level, and those were the trickiest parts of the game. Overall, I enjoyed playing through the main campaign and definitely think it’s worth checking out. The game is free to play, but there are ads and currencies to deal with. There’s also a $15 VIP IAP that makes it fully premium and even unlocks all the different characters right away. I got it for free, but I think it’s a good deal if you really like the game and don’t want to bother with the currencies and ads. There are also daily puzzles and some other bonus games, so even after you finish the main campaign you’ll still be able to get use out of your VIP status. I also have a full walkthrough guide here if you need help.

Grand Mountain Adventure 2

I suck at skiing in real life, and it appears I also suck at it in video games. Still, I enjoyed the bit of time I spent with Grand Mountain Adventure 2, not least because of how great it looks. I also like that you have some freedom with it and can just explore at your own leisure if you don’t feel like doing the challenges at the moment. But if you want to unlock more ski lifts, you do have to complete challenges and collect ski passes. Overall, it seems like a well-made game. It’s also free to try with a one-time IAP to unlock the full game, so check it out for yourself.

Carmen Sandiego NETFLIX

I mentioned Carmen Sandiego in my last roundup, but I’ve since completed all the available content. I still don’t like how you need to play less interesting content to earn experience in order to play through the main story. But I stuck with it anyway and did enjoy it overall. There was just one type of puzzle that I couldn’t solve sometimes, and it seemed genuinely impossible. Thankfully I was still able to complete it without them. There is more content coming at some point, but I’m not sure if I’ll play it. Again, the game is worth checking out if you already have a Netflix subscription but don’t get one just for this. You can also see my full playthrough here.

Genshin Impact

And last, I’ve been playing a lot of Genshin Impact since there’s a new character and also a new event, the Mikawa Festival. It includes a lot of story, including plenty of face time with my favorite character, Yae Miko. And she’s voiced, even though some of the other characters aren’t, due to the ongoing voice actors’ strike. There are some mini games, too, and I liked one of them but absolutely hated the platforming one. I rage quit multiple times because of the touch controls, and my injured thumb only made things worse. But I got through it and I’m not looking back. I now just have one of the other mini games left and more of the story quest, which I’ll probably finish over the weekend.

And that’s everything I’ve been up to this week. I also saw Paddington in Peru, which was adorable and absurd and I wish I could have a Paddington movie every year. I also finished Succession, and I’m thrown by how similar their election was to our 2024 election, which took place after the show aired. I really chose a bad time to catch up on the series. It’s too much like our current reality. Anyway, let me know in the comments section which games you’re playing and I’ll see you back here next time with more of My Week Unwrapped!

I’m playing tiny robots. It reminds me of Cats in Time in look and feel. It’s also really easy though I get stumped a few times. I think there is (so far) only one gameplay I don’t care for and that is the path ones where you move characters in unison to get to the goals. The other ones are similar to other games I’ve plays like match 3 tiny town and the flow free one, so those are easy. Glad it’s free and easy so I can play casually. I think there’s a sequel in the app store.

I tried Carmen, but got bored quickly. I might try some more and see how it goes.

My main game now is Lucy Dreaming which I adore. I gets a little obtuse sometimes, but I’m getting the hang of how things are working. I love the quirkiness and English humor going on. Reminds me of Thimbleweed Park. I know it’s old, but there seems to be a lack of good P&C games that are appealing to me right now. I tried Wooly Boy and checked out Rusty Lake Hotel, but Lucy took over 🙂 I’ll get back to those later.

Looking forward to Cat in Space! Thank you for this blog!
