Haiku Games is back with a new Adventure Escape game, and this time you’re playing as Catalina Romero, who is in charge of her family’s dino ranch while her parents are away. But dinosaurs have been going missing lately and you have to stop the smugglers! This walkthrough guide should help you if you get stuck on any of the puzzles in Chapter 3 of Dino Country. Feel free to ask for extra help in the comments section.

Chapter 3:
You can watch my video for Chapter 3 or continue below for my step-by-step guide:
1. We’re outside the mine and can hear dinos! First, grab the tongs from the pot and the love letter from the book. You can look at it if you want but we need to find others. Then tap on the tracks to get a closer look at them.
2. Use the tongs to grab two prickly pears from the cactus.
3. Go back and give the prickly pears to Thunder. He’ll break through the wooden planks so you can enter the mine. But there are raptors in there so we have to go in and save him!
4. Let’s solve the Quicksand puzzle. Raptors can only see in certain directions. Select a raptor to see which spaces that can see. The raptors will move towards you when you enter their line of sight. Strategically move around the grid to create quicksand, then lure the raptors in! I made a video for you.
5. A triceratops is trapped in the quicksand! We need to help it out. First, grab the rope, the churning stick, and another love letter.
6. Use the rope to pull the baby dino out. Then grab the shears and look at the locked box. We need a clue for the box, and that clue is from the four cacti we’ve seen. Locate them all again and pay attention to how many arms each has and where the cactus flower is located. That will tell you the order in which to move the diamond piece to the smaller squares. I numbered them for you. Then take the shaving brush from inside.
7. Go back through the hole and use the shears to cut open the bag to get a key and another love letter. Also use it to cut the vines. There’s a snake in the way of the locked box, though! Use the churning stick to get rid of the snake. We still need more clues to unlock the box he was guarding. While here, also take a look at the soup cans with bullet holes in them. We’ll need them in a bit.
8. Go back to the quicksand and use the key to unlock the gun case. Take the love letter and use the brush to clean off the gun.
9. Go back and take a look at the soup cans. Take out all four love letters and read them in order from darkest to lightest. Notice that each one mentions an item that’s in one of the cans. Make note of them and then note down how many bullet holes are in each can. Then you should have the code for the blue box. So it goes:
Corn = 3
Apple = 6
Biscuits = 2
Coffee = 4
Enter 3624 into the locked blue box to get some dino treats and ammunition.
10. Go back to the gun and add the ammunition. Now you’ll have a loaded rifle.
11. Go back to the tracks. Use the rifle to shoot at the ropes holding the pallets. When the rifle is moving horizontally, tap anywhere when the crosshairs are directly below a wooden pallet. The crosshairs will then start moving vertically. Tap to shoot when the crosshairs line up with the pallet’s rope. Shoot down all three pallets. I made a video for you.
12. Thunder is spooked by some gun shots, so give her the treats to coax her onto the bridge.
13. We’ve found Moxie Monroe! And why is Boone here? Moxie shoots Boone and Catalina knocks her out. Luckily, only Boone’s arm was hit. Everyone heads into the mine. Grab the crowbar. Then use it to open the crate in the back and get some kerosene. Then head inside the office to check on Boone.
15. Grab the glass and also the matches from the drawer. Then pour the kerosene into the lantern and use the matches to light it.
16. Once the light is on, you can grab the lever handle. There’s also a lock on the desk that we’ll come back to later.
17. Leave the room and place the lever handle in the mechanism by the crates. You’ll then get the rope.
18. Use the rope on Moxie and then solve the Ropes Puzzle to make one continuous knot.
19. Moxie wakes up and tries to tell you it’s a setup, but Buck covers her mouth so she can’t say anymore. It’s super fishy! But let’s continue. Notice the Days Without Injury sign. Each emblem has a number under it. Those same emblems are on the crates to the left. Notice that the hook on the chain is dangling in front of one of them. Pull the lever another four times to see it the order it moves in to the other crates. I numbered them for you. Now, find those emblems on the board and match them to their numbers. You end up with 63801.
20. Go back inside the office and enter 63801 into the locked desk to open it.
21. Grab the bottle of whiskey and pour it on Boone’s cut. He tells you to sent his assistant in.
22. Once Buck is gone, Moxie starts hitting her cart. Catalina notices it sounds like Morse code. Tap the cart again and watch it play out and enter those five letters as Morse code. It spells DINOS! She’s saying Boone stole the dinos!
23. Use the glass on the door to eavesdrop on Boone and Buck talking. Moxie was telling the truth! Boone stole the eggs and dinos!
And that’s the end of Chapter 3! Click here to continue to Chapter 4 or choose a chapter below.
Hey any chance you could post walkthrough for Baby roundup… I know I can skip puzzle…But I’d still like to know how the baby gets fed..
I’m sure App Unwrapper will get to it after they get through all the chapters but in the meantime, there’s a poster on the back wall that gives everything you need to solve the puzzle.
We know Lucky eats six courses and the poster tells us that he eats 18 items total. There are three carrots, two corn, seven steak and fish combined. He eats one more steak than fish and he eats twice as many figs as prickly pears.
So because steak = fish +1 and steak + fish = 7, we know that Lucky eats three fish and four steak.
Since there are six items left (18 – 3 – 2 – 7) and figs = 2x prickly pear, we know he eats four figs and two prickly pears.
This is a good place to stop in case you want to solve it with that info. Otherwise, here’s a breakdown of the steps based on the six rules at the bottom.
Rule 1 tells us that Course 1 is only fish. Rule 2 tells us that Steak is by itself and only on odd courses, since it can’t be on Course 1 (Rule 1), we know Steak is on courses 3 and/or 5. Rule 5 then tells us that you cannot have more than two steak per course. Since we have four steak to divide between courses 3 and 5, that one’s solved.
1.
2.
3. Steak Steak
4.
5. Steak Steak
6.
Rule 5 also tells us no more than one carrot per course. We have three courses that can have carrots and three carrots so that’s solved. We can also knock out Rule 6 which tells us that fish doesn’t go with fruits or veggies. Since every course other than 1 has a veggie or a steak, we know all three fish go on course 1.
1. Fish Fish Fish
2. Carrot
3. Steak Steak
4. Carrot
5. Steak Steak
6. Carrot
Rule 1 says no corn or figs on course 6. Rule 3 says figs and prickly pears come in pairs. Rule 4 says every veggie needs to have fruit with it. Since course 6 needs a fruit, we can’t have figs, and prickly pears need to come in pairs, we put both prickly pears on course 6. Then, since both courses 2 and 4 need a fruit and the figs need to be paired, we put two figs on each of those. Finally, we know our two corn can only go on 2 and 4 and each tray can only hold four items (not sure if they actually tell you this but it will tell you the tray is full if you try to put more than four items down) so one corn to each.
1. Fish Fish Fish
2. Carrot Corn Fig Fig
3. Steak Steak
4. Carrot Corn Fig Fig
5. Steak Steak
6. Carrot Pear Pear
Hope that’s helpful. I’ve been stumped on the bathing step for days now (there are allegedly clues around the room but I’m reading them wrong or looking at the wrong things or something) so just waiting for App Unwrapper to get all the way there. 🙂
Me too – stuck on that last part! I’m also terrible at the merging mini game and can’t get the last two done
