Your House: A Hidden Truth

Your House is a prequel to unmemory, a text-based game that released in 2020. It has you playing as a woman named Debbie who is sent a key to a house, which she sets out to explore. There’s many secrets to discover, including how the house relates to her. It can be tricky at times, so this walkthrough guide should help if you get stuck. Feel free to ask for extra help in the comments section.

Chapter 3:

1. We’re in the hidden room. Scroll down and examine the portrait of Serena Pulin. Notice there’s two buttons next to her name, one a triangle and one a circle. We need to figure out which numbers to change them to.

2. Continue down and look at the books. Notice that each spine has a triangle and circle with numbers in them. If you study them carefully, you can see that the triangle represents the number of consonants in the title, and the circle represents the number of vowels. So count the consonants and vowels in the words SERENA PULIN and you get 6 and 5.

3. Go back up to the portrait and change the triangle to 6 and the circle to 5. A new hidden passage opens!

4. Keep reading and then tap on the word switch to turn on the lights. We’re in a tunnel. Continue reading and tap on open.

5. Now we’re in the camera room. You can’t do anything yet with the computer and there’s a locker we can’t open yet. Look at the shelf full of jars. That’s a clue we’ll need later.

6. Scroll back up and go back to the hallway. Then tap on second to go to another room.

7. We’re now in the warehouse, but there doesn’t appear to be much here. Except there is! Tap on the brick at the top of the page to find a key under it. Tap on the word key to pick it up.

8. Go back to the tunnel and to the camera room again. Look at the shelf again to see the clue, which we’ll need for the locker now that we have the key to open it. Basically, move the pieces of the key to the left or the right to match the jars on the shelves. It goes LEFT, MIDDLE, RIGHT, LEFT.

9. Tap on paper to see a map. Then put the night vision glasses on to see things you couldn’t see before. There’s a switch in the upper right corner to turn the glasses on and off.

10. Scroll up and go back to the tunnel and then the second door again. Back in the warehouse, put on the glasses to see a hidden clue. It shows a POWER button and 5s under it. It’s telling you to press the power button for 5 seconds.

11. Take off the glasses and go back to the tunnel and then the camera room again. Tap on the image with the computer and then press the POWER button for 5 seconds. You don’t have to worry about timing it. Just keep holding the button until it turns on. The screen will turn on and it says: “MEET ME AT THE CABINET OF CURIOSITIES.” Then leave the room.

12. We’re back in the tunnel and it’s bigger than we first thought. There’s more rooms you can visit now. But first, scroll down and take a look at the map. Notice at the top it says CHANNEL 735. We’ll use that in a bit. But first, use the glasses on the map to see some hidden clues, including locks and keys, which tell you how to find the information you need for each lock. I recommend taking a screenshot of it.

13. Go back to the camera room and change the channel on the computer to 735. It will give you a clue. Again, I recommend taking a screenshot of it.

14. Go back to the tunnel. This time, go to the Garage. Then head to the garden. There’s a lock on the door here with a snake on it. We need more information, so we’ll come back later. While here, look at the garden gnomes and use the glasses to see the letters N E W S light up. We’ll use that later.

15. Go back to the garage and look at the fire extinguisher. Turn it around and then use the glasses to see some letters light up green and red/pink.

16. Go back to the tunnel. This time, head to the Street. Scroll through all the text until you get to the trap door. There’s a lock here with the same maple leaf that you saw on channel 735. Press the buttons that were lit up on the screen. It should be 8, 17, 26 and 29.

15. The door will open and now you’re at the parking meter. Take a look at it. There’s a snake on it and two buttons, red and green. Use the clue from the fire extinguisher to solve the puzzle. Basically, the letters on it go GREEN, PINK, GREEN, GREEN, PINK, PINK, GREEN. So press the buttons in that order, with pink being red. Then put on your glasses to see the numbers 1239.

16. Go back through the trap door to the tunnel. Go back to the Garage and then the garden. Tap on the door to see the lock again. This time, we know how to open it. Set the rings to 1239, starting with the outer ring and making your way towards the center.

17. We’re now at the tower. Scroll down and look through the binoculars. I recommend taking screenshots of each view. But notice that there’s directions on each, N E S W. Those are the same letters we saw on the gnomes. What you want to do is find a number within each. For N, count the chimneys. For E, count the telephone poles. For S, count the trees. And for W, count the windows. So you get:

N = 4
E = 3
S = 6
W = 9

18. Go back to the garden and then the garage and finally the tunnel again. Let’s finally check out the Video Shop. Scroll through the text and then tap on the gate to see another lock.

19. We now have all the information we need to open the lock. The hats on the lock represent the gnomes. So they go in order of NEWS. Using the numbers we got from the binoculars, we end up with 4396. So enter that and go through to the video shop.

20. Look through the three movies. The last one is named Irma Vep and you can tap it to see the tape inside. Put your glasses on to see three words highlighted — LAW OF TAPES.

21. The map had some hidden words on it that said CHANNEL IRMA VEP. Yes, they’re connected. You want to count the number of letters in each word of LAW OF TAPES. You then get 325. So go back through the hatch to the tunnel and then back to the camera room.

22. Tap on the computer and enter 325 to change the channel. Then pay attention to the recording: “One Mexican on a bike. Another going up the stairs. One who is peeing. The one from before who is now telling his companions a joke. One after another. The “amigos” are the key to the treasure door.”

23. Go back to the tunnel. Let’s finally go to the Cabinet of Curiosities.

24. There’s a padlock here. You can look at it, but we need more info before we can unlock it. Scroll down and put on your glasses to see the same symbol from the map and the camera room. It also says P.101…P.108. It’s talking about the book!

25. Scroll down further and open the book. Flip to page 101. Put on the glasses to see that same symbol and one letter highlighted. So now what we need to do is find the drawings that look like the Mexicans or amigos from the recording. The one on a bike is page 102, which is N. The one going up the stairs is page 104, which is O. The one who is peeing is on page 101, which is E. And last, the one from before who is now telling his companions a joke is on page 106, which is L. So you end up with NOEL.

26. Go back to the padlock and enter NOEL and then press OPEN to open it and access another cutscene. And that’s the end of the chapter!
