Haiku Games is back with a new Adventure Escape game, and this time you’re playing as Catalina Romero, who is in charge of her family’s dino ranch while her parents are away. But dinosaurs have been going missing lately and you have to stop the smugglers! This walkthrough guide should help you if you get stuck on any of the puzzles in Chapter 5 of Dino Country. Chapter 5:

1. We’re back in town. The sheriff doesn’t believe us about Boon, so we need to get a disguise for Moxie so she can help us. Notice that we can’t enter the Cantina on our own. Start by talking to the woman in front of the clothing shop. She’ll only let you help once you have a sense of the season’s fashion trends. Talk to the paper boy and he tells you he has fashion magazines but they cost 5 coins. Grab the coin from the sleeping dino. Then head into the alleyway between the buildings.

2. Moxie is here and she’ll lay low until you find her a disguise. Find four more coins and the mirror. Also, knock down the planter and break off the two chair legs from the chair. Sugar is locked up but the bars are electrocuted! Let’s deal with Moxie and then we’ll help Sugar.

3. Go back and give the paper boy the five coins in exchange for a magazine. Notice it says not to wear red to evening events. Also, use the mirror with the dinos in the fountain to lure them out.

4. Take the coin from the fountain and then talk to the woman in front of the clothing store. She wants you to solve a puzzle for her.

5. In the Window Display Puzzle, drag items onto the mannequins to create fashionable outfits. Each outfit needs the proper dress, hat, accessory and pair of shoes. First, read through the whole magazine. You should be able to use the info in there to make up the three outfits. Or you can just copy my solution. You’ll then get a hat and umbrella.

6. Go back to Moxie and use the umbrella to reach the red jacket. Then give her the jacket and the hat. We’re ready to go!

7. Go back and enter the Cantina. Use the chair legs as firewood. Then find three more coins, the ladle, bowl and the tongs.

8. Use the tongs to grab another coin from the phonograph.

9. Give the five coins to the dealer to play cards. Now we have to play the Faro Game until we win all of the dealer’s coins. To win, you’ll need to memorize each marked card, and move your bet into the correct space whenever the dealer is distracted. Play a while to learn what the marked cards are. Here’s what I got:

Coffee Stain = 7
Skull = Queen
Star = 4
Splatter = Ace

10. Before serving the chili, go back outside and use the 10 coins to buy some spicy peppers from the vendor.

11. Put the peppers in the chili. Then place the bowl down and use the ladle to dole out a bowl of spicy chili.

12. Leave the cantina and knock on the sheriff’s door. He’ll let you in and eat the chili, then run out to get water. Moxie will help you lock him in near Sugar so we can look through his office.

13. Grab the glass and the pastry. Take a look at the locked drawer. To open it, we need to figure out the total bounty amount. There’s also a note in the other drawer that says that 1/2 reward is paid for dead prisoners. Then the bounties on the wall tell you how much each bounty is worth and the skulls tell you if they were dead when brought in. So let’s figure it out.

Dead = $2000 / 2 =$1000
Dead = $1000 / 2 = $500
Dead = $200 / 2 = $100
Alive = $500
Alive = $100
Alive = $25

Add them up and you get $2225. So enter 2225 into the lock to open it.

14. Look at the page inside the drawer that tells you that the gate to Sugar’s cell is controlled by blue tiles. We need to get a bird’s eye view of it, though. The prisoner says he’ll help you get through the access door in the alley, but he want you to make him an Adios drink first, served cold. Take the hatchet from the drawer before leaving.

15. Go back out and feed the pastry to the dinosaur pulling the ice cart. Then take the key and use it to unlock the ice cart. Use the hatchet to break off some of the ice into ice cubes.

16. Go back to the cantina. Look at the all the framed photos and the trophies. Then go to the barrels behind the bar. Place the glass down and add the ice. Now we have to use the info we have to figure out how to make the drink. Notice the names on the trophies — 1 Alvarez, 2 Romero, 3 Parson, 4 Knox, 5 Slater. Find the photo of each of them and read the label to see the names of each of their dinosaurs. Then match each dinosaur name to one of the barrels behind the bar. You get:

Alvarez = Blaze = Fire = Whiskey
Romero = Cutie Pie = Pie = Rum
Parson = Prickly Pete = Cactus = Tequila
Knox = Midnight = Moon = Ale
Slater = Silly Goose = Goose = Gin

So pour the drinks in that order: Whiskey, Rum, Tequila, Ale, Gin. Now you have an Adios drink.

17. Go back to the prisoner and give him the drink. In exchange he’ll give you a toothbrush and a bar of soap. Look at the soap for a clue and also look at the Stillwater Jurisdiction Map again.

18. Go back to the alleyway and tap on the locked gate. Use the toothbrush to remove the rust from the lock. We now have access to the lock, which has four directional buttons. We need to figure out 5 directions to press, using the clue from the soap and the map. Start with the spot on the map that’s circled because of the circle on the soap. Then find the hangman’s noose. You go straight UP to get to it. Then LEFT to the church because of the cross. Then UP to the roof that’s shaped like an M. Then RIGHT to the statue of a man. And last, DOWN to the clock because of the clock hands. So it goes UP, LEFT, UP, RIGHT, DOWN. Then head up to the roof.

19. Now we have to solve a puzzle to help Sugar escape! Guide Sugar to step on all of the blue tiles to open the prison gate. Stay away from the red tiles on the floor, and the red wires on the walls. They’ll shock Sugar! I made a video for you.
